In division 1 it has been decided that the games vs Ericdoman and Snugglebunnies have been scored as 0 - 0 draws as they had not started any games.

Not that I care at all but just as a matter of interest, does that mean that everyone in their division will have a lower rating because of having a zero score in their games ?

The theory is that two equally matched players drawing 0 -0 will not change in ratings. However, in looking at some of the scores now i've entered them there is more of a difference where players of unequal ratings play. So you drawing against eric means you will loose rating and he would gain some points. Similarly I would gain and Eric would get a reduced rating.

I'll take a closer look and see if it would be better to just null the games - although the spreadsheet isnt set up to do this.

We'll let you know.

We've decided to void all of Eric and Snugglebuniies games in Div A to avoid unfair ELO adjustments.

I have scored all of Yinsd00's uncompleted games as losses - most players have claimed the games, but i have assumed that all will do so in due course.

There are only a few games left to report. If the have been completed then either player please feel free to post.

Blagrot Hittite 1275-1180BC beat lydianed Thracian (Triballi) 700-351 BC 43% - 10%

Not a nice day for the massed spears, having to charge melee chariots and chase bow chariots. As they over extended my foot came out to play on my left and were able to flank and break chunks of the thracians to take the win. Thanks for the game.

Blagrot Hittite 1275-1180BC beat grahamed Neo-Hittite/ Aramean 890-700BC w/ Hebrew 800-682 Allies 60% - 55%

A close, brutal game. My chariots broke through nicely on the right but scattered to the winds while my left flank cahriots stuttered and stumbled. This left my infantry exposed to the superior foot and despite a couple of successes they were taken apart. The returning chariots sealed the victory in time but it was looking dodgy for a while. Thanks for the game.

It’s all over at the top with Tyronec winning with an impressive 91 average. The scrap for second was far more interesting with Raydel pipping Aetius and Kroche missing the winners rostrum. Best not mentioning the rest who languish in mid table obscurity. We decided to void the games for EricDoman and Snugglebunnies in the end.

In Div B Random looks very comfortable in first with perhaps just a glance over his shoulder in case Triarii has a 300 point finish. It’s certainly between Cherebuska, Morat and Triarii for second. Looks to have been a competitive division though throughout with all players scoring well and only a few points between 3rd and 8th places. Still a few results to come in – deadline is 31 March.

Div C Looks a clear win for Nosferatu with 8 wins and a draw. Anderarcos11 looks settled in 2nd and Garokan in 3rd place. It’s unlikely Garokan can move up now. Tight at the bottom too with IMC and DIVM yet to post their result.

Div D looks to be a cracker. Nonvitch holds 1st by a single point from Asterix (one light archer who should have hidden in the woods!). But as they head into the final straight the top two are looking worried as it’s RAZIDE who needs 27 points to pip it. A few games to complete remember either party please post the score even if you lost.

The score was Romans 60% and Palmyrans 43%

This was a tough fight, fiercely contested across the battlefield, with several Roman units recovering from rout and one resilient Roman unit holding out for multiple turns despite being fragmented. However, a combination of Palmyran archery and cataphracts eventually prevailed. But this was a close fight and might perhaps have gone either way.

The Romans sought a very strong defensive position aided by the forests and rough terrain which did not make for a dynamic battle when the opposing army was 100% cavalry. The action only came in the final turns which was a pity for a battle that could have been more interesting.

The score was Dacians 60% and Palmyrans 39%

Another tough fight, but once again Palmyran firepower combined with powerful cataphract cavalry prevailed.

I redeployed my army so that one flank was resting on a high hill with rough terrain crowded with massed archers and skirmishers. I then relied on superior firepower to wear down the enemy forces and then concentrated my cataphracts to deal with his warbands. But it wasn't an easy victory by any means and my opponent fought well.
