Score: Hunnic 61% and Palmyran 49%

This was a hard fought game, with both sides fighting well and taking heavy losses. There was quite a lot of difficult terrain - woods, rough and a small swamp too - but both sides were mostly mounted, so this only benefitted my foot archers. On the Palmyran right flank, a mixture of Palmyran cataphracts and light horse archers, supported by light foot archers in the woods overcame the Hunnic cavalry. On the other flank, some massed Palmyran archers held their ground - rough terrain - for longer than expected and routed some Hunnic horse archers by their fire. In the middle ground, cataphracts and light horse archers faced off against the various Hunnic cavalry in a fairly even fight.

Overall, a great game against a tough opponent who beat me in another hard-fought game in the Late Mediaeval section of the tournament.

In division 1 it has been decided that the games vs Ericdoman and Snugglebunnies have been scored as 0 - 0 draws as they had not started any games. The games vs Geffalrus have been scored as wins to his opponents as he had completed some games before withdrawing due to ill health. we all hope he feels well soon.

Nosferatu seems to have it with Anderarcos11 in second. It’s very tight at the bottom though.

Nonvitch has 1 game to complete, with RAZIDE, Ulysisgrunt, Brenmusik and Meroka37 with 2 games left. DirtyMark needs to complete 5 games – please make sure these are completed to make it fair or all players as Nonvitch and RAZIDE have great chances for the title still.

Blagrot Seleucid 166-125BC w Parthian 250BC-225AD allies beat IMC Roman 105-25BC w Numidian/Moorish 55BC - 6AD allies 64% - 40%

I tried to avoid fighting the roman's more numerous mediums by having only horse archers on that side which let me stack the main fight with just enough extra troops that a pike block snuck in to attack a flank and start a slow collapse. The romans got a few good blows in too but the horse archers chasing the remaining spanish troops into the main fight landed the crucial rear charges to finish the battle. Thanks for the game.

My horse archers and skirmishers won the shooting war overall and the Hastarii struggled to match the warbands, veteran pikes and cataphracts. I lost several units to flanks as my more compact force pushed through but once my opponent had to commit the raw legions it went poorly as they broke quickly, often dropping their more seasoned colleagues morale. Thanks for the game.

A swirling mess of chariots of melee foot, overall my chariots won and my foot lost but the critical point was winning over a large hill on the left for little loss, although the fighting moved away from it the extra kills pushed me over the edge into victory. Thanks for a tight game.
