Blagrot Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 + Dacian (Carpi) 107-380 allies beat Morat Visigothic 419-621 + Byzantine 551-578 allies 61% - 44%

A lovely brawl this one, my cavalry managed to sneak enough flanks to overcome their pricier counterparts but my thin right flank was overrun. The two winning flanks turned inwards to crush the centre but my horse did a better job of that as both armies re-engaged at 90 degrees to their starting points. Thanks for a cracking game.

Also Blagrot Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 + Dacian (Carpi) 107-380 allies beat Jtrillodmp Roman 379-424 + Frankish 260-495 allies 40% - 15%

A rather abrupt finish to this game as the Roman's hit 40%. Pinning units with lancers gave me room to gang up on individual roman units and massed skirmisher fire disrupted enough units to make them vulnerable. A lot of disrupted units still running around but the Roman's were getting isolated. Thanks for the game.

Finally Blagrot Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 + Dacian (Carpi) 107-380 allies beat tmac11 Roman 24 BC-196 AD + Sarmation 25-375 allies 60% - 38%

The Romans held a strong line between twin forests, backed by artillery. The auxillia waiting in the trees proved a poor match for the loose warbands however adn the legion had to swing out to try and break the warbands in the open. The fight turned into two flanks with a large gap in the centre but once the Roman cavalry fell to the gothic horse and skirmishers the legions were left exposed and picked apart. Thanks for the game

Blagrot Neopolitian 1443 - 1500 with Albanian 1400 - 1478 Allies beat cromlechi French 1484-1500 61% - 45%

The swiss kiels steadily murdered everything in their path but the Neopolitean shooting and light troops overwhelmed the support. One cavalry flank charge sent knights crashing through half the French left in a mad pursuit and while final victory was delayed while they came back the swiss simply couldn't wreck my troops fast enough to compansate. Thanks for the game.

Thanks for setting up the tournament! I think I batted .500 which is good in American Baseball! But it was AWESOME none the less!

Div 1

Rafydedel Arab (City) 300-633 AD defeats LuciusSulla Breton 411-579 62-44

The two armies were a bit similar, with a lot of average infantry units and many cavalry. Yet, the breton were slightly more numerous and i originally kept a defensive positions while the bretons positionned themselves around the Arab.

Once the fights started, the battle got very volatile: units fragmented or broke easily on both sides, cavalry pursued across the battlefield and finished their course many tiles away from their starting points, and losses rose quickly every turn.

At the end, Arab got the upper hand, I am not sure exactly why.

Just look at the score. A careful beginning became a mess of isolated fights and opportunistic flank attacks that finished with only 2 turns remaining as my punch-drunk mess of an army had just a little more stamina than the battered Byzantines. Thanks for a fantastic game.

Div 2

Morat (Visigoths/Byzantines) beat Hari72 Hepthalite: 61-37

Sprawling battle where the Hepthalite horse archers shattered and scattered the Byzantine horse on the right, while a mixture of Visigoth horse and foot eventually overcame elephants and horse on the left. The decisive battle was in the centre, where Visigoth and byzantine foot anchored themselves on a low hill and used massed archers and lights to beat off horse archer attacks until the forces on the left could get back and finish off the fight.

Thanks to Hari72 for a long and hard fought battle.
