This was a long and attritional game after a snappy beginning. I focused fire on Angus's amulghavars whose advance was broken by the heavy Mongol firepower. Having lost his potent medium infantry I was able to hug my medium infantry onto the rough terrain (pinning the Muslim spearmen) and let my cavalry slowly wear down the foe as both side's cavalry became dispersed.

Both sides had a balanced army composition. The Pontic forces set up on a small hill with a forest on their left flank and cavalry on their right. The ensuing battle went back and forth. The Pontic forces saw greater success on the right flank, while the Thracian forces had greater success in the forest on the left flank. The battle remained close until the very end when the Pontic army took the victory.

Both sides had fairly cavalry heavy army composition. The battlefield was very open allowing both sides to utilize their cavalry to their fullest. Initially the Rus forces started off with a strong attack, but a series of flanking charges by the Byzantines made the Rus forces loose the initiative. The Rus forces managed to catch some vulnerable Byzantine forces while they were pursuing retreating Rus troops. This allowed the Rus forces to stabilize the frontline. After a long series of maneuvers and intense fighting, the Rus forces took the victory.

rexhurley (Numibian) defeats with Blagrot (Seleucid) 62/37.

After a brain fade start by myself assuming all the Cav I could see in the second rank of Blagrot's deployment were Cats, when in reality it was a nasty trap of bow armed cav which trapped my first swarm wave nicely, I managed to pull back the deficit to create a comfortable win when the map became fragmented and the strength of the Desert swarm comes into its own.

Thanks for the game Blagrot and pushing to finish these last couple of days to help me out in real life, appeciate it.

Geffalrus wins 40-14

Slow going chopping through a mass of beefy infantry like the Vikings, but the Byzantine lancers were able to lock them in place while the archers slowly turned them into pincushions. Another turn or two and the Irish allies and berserkers were set to get around my flank and stop my cavalry's attempts at social distancing. GG to Kroche
