I swear this is not an ad, just an amusing story.

So I bought a book, just for fun and something to read. Naturally it's a WWII book, because yea.
It was this book.

I figured that would be a fun thing to have, something in print with lots of information on German equipment and some neat imagery to go alongside it all.

But it turns out this '1939 to 1945' book has a surprise in it. THERE IS A M$%^#$ F#$%@^$ LANDKREUZER ENTRY IN THERE. It actually has an entry for the P.1000 Ratte! I was shocked. Perhaps Axis Operations 1946 wasn't so far fetched afterall. lol

While they also had entries on the E50 and E100, I'm sorry to report they did not have an entry for the Landkreuzer P.1600 Meerschweinchen. It is, after all, a Panzer Corps 2 original design, haha.

Of all the armored vehicles we have in game, I do hope we can get the Kugelblitz AA in game at some point. I would have thought it would have for sure been put in 1946. I'd love to see some crazy prototypes for all the nations at some point

Now that you mention it, another AA vehicle we're so far overlooked is the Coelian.

I was also advocating for the Kugelblitz, and now looking back at AO1946 with all the American fighters swarming the skies, it would have been really useful.

I'd recommend all books by Thomas Anderson or Michael Green - informative and written well, so they are an easy read despite the level of detail. They do not have as many schematics and tables for fans of statistical info, but illustrate the timeline, development and doctrine quite well.

Sure! The English versions of Anderson's books are by Osprey Publishing it seems. I got mine in Polish however, so I can just recommend the few that came out so far and I had the chance to read them as some more are still in translation. The English versions have a lot more of them.

The one on tanks destroyers I found especially fascinating (so far volume 1), as I was for example surprised by the records of Pak 36 being liked by its crews as a weapon against not really tanks, but actually against more soft targets. There are several more such interesting facts based on archives and records. I will be getting my hands on basically all of his books if I can, as but the two above series seem best to me out of the ones I had a chance to try out. Green specializes in American vehicles more and this one is a cool read. His book on the WW2 stuff is more standardized, but good for an overview:

Finally, you can't go wrong with David Doyle, he writes stuff faster than Shermans came out of assembly lines... I prefer Anderson's style, but if Doyle did not write about something, chances are that nobody else did as well.
