It was a lot harder fought than the score suggests. For a while both armies were close to 40 points and were desperately intermingled. Eventually the greater manoeuvrability of the Assyrians won out and largely relying on their remaining cavalry and chariots were able to force the win.

Vikings pushed on their right and managed to rout the Byzantine medium cav to create gaps and get in the lead. Byzantines put in a lot of missile fire which the Vikings managed to suffer without too many disrupts. Byzantines were filing to their right and had some successful charges, luckily the Viking left creaked but did not break. A couple of fragmented Viking units managed to hold, otherwise match would have gone on a lot longer. GG

Patch of rough in the centre which both medium foot tried to take - French were mostly missile troops there and Viking (Ireland) lights tried to give a bit of protection to their Irish allies medium foot. French had more of their cavalry on their right while the Vikings had more infantry to the left of the rough. Early stages looked like the Viking left would fall before their stronger right could make headway. However some favourable dice rolls, and then more, saw the Vikings win in the rough and hold the left while the right routed the French spearmen. Unlucky to Keith GG.
