Ilkhanid Mongols defeated Castilian 1476-1497AD 40:9

The Mongols benefitted from a battlefield that was much more open than it looked, although with a built up area in the middle where they were able to base a unit of crossbowman. They managed to evade most of the attacks by the Castilian knights facing their weak right flank, while the horse archers were able to break up the infantry into individual units, disrupt them with arrows, then charge in from multiple directions. It’s been interesting playing the Mongols against mostly heavily armoured European opponents. Thanks to all of my opponents.

A kind of civil war with the Germans, our side got an early edge, but his came back and it was even mid-game, until we pulled away by breaking up the middle. Tough game, thanks for playing!^^

Using some dismounted superior lancers in the center the Byzantines rushed forward to engage before the Palmyran archers had much effect. Cavalry on both wings spread out the cataphracts and overwhelmed them with numbers and got behind the line.

Morat (French/Vikings) beat Bagatrix1805 Dailami/Armenian 56-30

French went for a balanced horse/foot mix against a very infantry heavy Dalami force. French sought to use their horse to flank on the left and use their heavy infantry to beat up the centre. Plan very nearly came badly unstuck as hordes of medium foot emerged from woods on the left. French right got mauled by veteran and medium spears. Salvation came in the centre, huscarls and dismounted lancer and a vital couple of mounted lancer units cut through the opposition and just had enough to turn on the forces closing from their left.

A quick and brutal game, the infantry clash favoured me slightly, especially with several disrupts from skirmisher shooting. Both sides cavalry overwhelmed their counterparts on the respective right flanks but mine overlapped quicker to land the finishing blows on his struggling infantry in the centre. A couple of units rallied with amusingly bad timing for both sides, just in time to be rear charged by pursuing cavalry and broken before they even got a turn... Thanks for the game.

Just look at the score. A careful beginning became a mess of isolated fights and opportunistic flank attacks that finished with only 2 turns remaining as my punch-drunk mess of an army had just a little more stamina than the battered Byzantines. Thanks for a fantastic game.
