Heavily armoured Vikings faced against a longer line of less armoured Croatians and moved sideways to a better defensive positions on a hill, then held firmly for every tile, but the rest of the longer Croatian line enveloped them and bitter fighting took place until the Vikings finally broke. Close fight and a good game.

Rafydedel Arab (City) 300-633 AD defeats Stones1985 Thracian (Triballi) 350 BC-46 AD + Thracian (Getae) 279 BC-46 AD allies 44-12

On an open plain without much terrain, Arab tried to turn the Thracian on both wings with their cavalry. On the thracian left side, the arab lost a few units but on the right side, it went ok and with the help of bowmen, they could rather quickly defeat the Thracian right wing before the thracian left wing could reach the bedouin army.

Please keep the games going and those who are behind (especially those who are yet to post a result) please can you make sure that your games are completed in time. All challenges should have been posted by the end of February.

Morat (Burgundians/English) beat paulmcneil (French) 40-15

French made a fast start with light horse and foot causing real panic in the Burgundian ranks. Fast moving Keils threatened disaster. But with the help of some Welsh Spears and defensive foot the Burgundian left just held, enabling flanking forces to arrive and turn the tide. In the centre the Burgundians started to make inroads into French infantry and cavalry.

The score was in no way representative of the battle. It felt close (very close) all the way through.

Yeah, good game, I learned a couple of very important lessons in that one, disappointing result but good hard fight all the way through. Well played.

DIVM (Romans + Iberians) beats SawyerK (Antigonid + Greeks)

Result: 57-29

The Romans were indeed fortunate holding their right flank long enough while the middle section of the army was successful in defeating the phalanxes. Special mention to a Caetrati unit that held cavalray charges thrice over a deep stream, allowing the right flank to keep together in critical moments. Well played by my opponent, that presented a solid strategy and was mostly unlucky in critical moments.
