The Ptolemaic troops suffered the slings and arrows (and javalins and artillery bolts) of the Selucids, this left multiple units disrupted or low strength and gaps appeared quickly when the main lines clashed. A desperate flanking movement by the ptolemaic cavalry couldn't bypass the Selucid mediums in time to swing around. Thanks for the game.

A mad slaughter, I assumed my opponent would focus on a large hill and moved to flank it with chariots, as his troops poured off the hill and murdered most of my limited foot. Meanwhile my chariots killed the troops on the hill and swung around into a confused mess of 3 and 4 unit scraps broken up by rough terrain and sped up by each of us taking advantage of exposed flanks. A great game and lovely chat, thank you.

The babylonians were focussed on a large hill with mixed foot screeening archers, I decided to take a wide trip around with chariots on both flanks and a few infantry pressing to my left. My chariots eventually destroyed his and carreened into the back of the army like a bunch of teenage joyriders while my foot overwhelmed his right flank, especially in the last turn where a wave of breaking units bulked up the score. Thanks for the game

Bad terrain for my opponent here with a deep stream running across the battlefield, my mediums were fine and my light chariots with bows much happier than his heavy foot and heavy melee chariots, kudos for giving it a go and thanks for the game.

The Egyptians took up a defensive position along a ridge, centre and right, facing Assyrian infantry in (protected obstacle) fields, deploying their chariots on their left flank.

The Egyptian chariots engaged the Assyrian heavy chariots to their front, but struggled to contain them, especially as Assyrian Cavalry and Camelry switched to their right flank to join in. The mixed spear and bow Assyrian infantry were in range of the lightly protected Egyptian, and the latter were forced to attack them, enveloping them around their far left flank in an attempt to compensate for their lack of heavy armour and having to attack their enemy across obstacles. So commenced a meat grinder battle in which the Egyptians just succeeded in wearing down their opponents just before they themselves were exhausted - the final result belying how close the battle really was. Good game, thanks Russell.

It was always going to be a tough ride for my foe who lacked much firepower in his list or medium foot capacity to counter my own. The foe was drawn into futile pursuits and slowly worn die by the Ilkhanate's unrelenting fire. As they became spread out I was able to use my mobility to encircle his softer infantry and then eventually his knights and heavy foot. Well-played.

hill on one side, forest on other, and extensive broken ground in between perfect for the catalan foot and archers

greek knights shot up badly in center right while main catalan attack on greek foot on center left resulted in catalan victory, and then catalans turned on the greek center and completed the killing

greeks did serious damage on extreme catalan right and held the hill also, so died with honour !! GG

division 3 heidipie viking irish defeated ironclad french with vikings , 70 to 37

terrible terrain for mounted, big hill one side and forest on other. French cleared the woods but the irish kerns came wheeling over the hill and with more units the french badly outnumbered. their knights tried to flank but suprised by enemy in the woods and so ineffective. was actually very close all game until last two turns, when viking had numerous overlaps due to superior numbers and many last minute routs....
