The Prussian Heyday

Post by awesum4 »

I'm launching a new Campaign based on the battles of Prussia during the 18th and 19th Centuries.
There will be 6 historical battles.

Players choose to be either Prussian (sometimes with their allies) or Enemy (mostly French which is what we will call them)

Each player will play one of the enemy players at one of the battles each round. A chance to play people you don't normally play.

If you are interested either post here or by PM telling me which side you wish to play for. Joining in implies a commitment to play moves at least 3 times a week so we can get the campaign done expeditiously. There will be a break from mid June to mid July as I am overseas and not taking my laptop this time.

Count me in please. Happy to play either side so I can even up the teams.

I will be away for the last week in June and first week in July but I am sure we will have completed six rounds by then (surely?)

I don't really know how these play, so I don't mind either way.

The battles are;

Soor 1745 against the Austrians
Kesseldorf 1745 against the Austrians
Kolin 1757 against the Austrians
Minden 1759 against an alliance lead by the Austrians, Although the English may disagree
Gravelotte 1870 against the French
Sedan 1870 against the French

I've won all these as the Prussians, I've lost all these as the Prussians, most are very well balanced

I am happy to play Prince Charles Alexander of Lorraine in the first battle, the Austrian commander at the Battle of Soor, since his record of victories is around the same as mine. I hope to show him and the Prussians up in the tournament :D .

We have 5 players on each side.

The nasty aggressive ruthlessly efficient Prussians are played by;
Doyley50
Gribol,
SMJohnso77
PeterthePainter
Ironclad

The heroic but often incompetently led Austrians, and equally heroic and often incompetently led French are played by;
W-Michael
awesum4
LinkinBrick
Dilly
Ciberpincho

If we get 1 more player for each team then each player will play each member of the other team once, otherwise we'll play 5 rounds and then allow challenges for the final battle.

I don't know what the procedure is for recording challenges here but just in case :

Challenge up for Ciberpencho:

For our battle of Soor where i'm the Prussians and you are the Austrians.
Pw: soor

PM sent

Good luck

With regard to Kolin 1757, I don't think that limited ammunition and the residual shooting phase are compatible. Ammunition cannot be reserved for closer shooting. The AI takes your shot for you.

The limited ammo was only in mod, as I remember. I regular battle there is unlimited ammo.
