Div 3

Alexmike1 Roman 197-284 beat IMC - Roman 379-424 + Frankish 260-495 allies 53-23

The earlier Romans struggled to hold off the superior Frankish cavalry on their flanks. Thankfully, the earlier legions showed their mettle once contact was made.

Thanks again for the game.

Div 2

Morat Visigothic 419-621 + Byzantine 551-578 allies beat Conteshard Roman 197-284 + Arab 312 BC-299 AD allies: 60-40

Visigoths sought to draw the Roman cavalry into battle, and stay away from the legions for as long as possible. With a little good fortune the cavalry battle swung in the favour of the Visigoths, and their cavalry was able to support the warbands to hold off the Roman foot. In the end this was just enough to see the Visigoths over the line.

Many thanks to Conteshard for a hard fought and close game.

Division 1

random27 (indo-parthian) defeats ericdoman1 (jewish revolt) 62-46

First victory against eric in a tdc , i did not choose indo-parthian for fighting you eric , but the match up between these armies is clearly in indo-parthian favor in my opinion.

Thanks for the game , i will try to play at this level during all the tournament , not sure it will be easy :)
Impossible , not for french ; always a pleasure to play with you , see you soon on the battlefield

Division 3

Honestly I don't know how to report this one... A very narrow win or a draw ?

Anyway
gfs26 [Byzantines 988-1041]
won or draw against
Nosferatu [Croatian 850-1102]

the score was 61-60 !!!

An amazing battle, really fun and unpredictable until the very last turn ! Croatian army was lead in a perfect manner by enemy General, aginst better quality Byzantines (but in the end the numerical advantage was quite decisive ... about 12000 Croatian vs about 8000 Byzanines)... at the end of the battle there were no more than 4000 vs 2000...a bloodbath. Great battle ! Thanks to my opponent for the great fight !
PS. the ELO system gives a full victory to Byzantines (+15 ELO var vs -15 ELO var) it seems a bit too much honestly ! This should be a +-1 ELO var. Is FOG2 Ancient ELO system bugged ?

Division 2

gfs26 [Ottoman Turkish 1430-1500 w Tatar Allies]
defeats
GDod [Breton 1466-1491 + Castilian 1476-1497 allies]

score was : 62-49

The battle could easily go the other way... Lots of incredible stubborn units passing the cohesion test against all odds (to be honest also on the other side, but less frequently)
The battlefield was really very bad, but in the end, better for Ottomans lighter army. But the attack on unfavourable terrain almost worked anyway for the enemy army.
Fun battle, another bloodbath!
Thanks to my opponent, he deserved the win not less than my Ottomans !

Just to chime in, this was really an amazing battle, thanks gfs26. Also the closest and most chaotic I ever had, in the last several turns, each random roll could have changed the outcome significantly, but the balance kept swinging back and forth and both our troops slugged it out stubbornly until they all collapsed exhausted. I think the 1% difference is enough reason to declare this a victory for gfs26.

Division 2

edb1815 Byzantine 551-578 + Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 allies defeated Conteshard Roman 197-284 + Arab 312 BC-299 AD allies. 61%-53%

A very close battle that could have gone either way. The Imperial Roman Legions crushed the inferior Byzantine infantry while the cavalry battle swirled all around. The more numerous and bow armed Byzantine cavalry ultimately won the day and even took out a couple of Roman heavy infantry units.

Very well played by Conteshard. Thanks for the game.

Hi both

Any nails left?:)

This is classed as a draw
If no army has been routed or both have inflicted 60%+ casualties this would be classed as a Draw The recorded score will then be used
Nosferatu has a 1246 TDCR and gfs 1180, after entering data, N = -3.23 and G = +3.23.

I think that is quite fair

Division D
In an historical result, the Lysimachid Imperialistic dogs and their traitorous Odrysian allies have been defeated and Thrace is free of the Macedonian yoke! Lysimachus has been made to eat from wooden bowls and has had to agree to free northern Thrace from all Macedonian interference.
Vakarr (Thracian (Getae) 279 BC-46 AD with Greek 227-146 BC allies defeats
AKvGoeben (Lysimachid 320-281BC w Thracian Hellenistic 350-281bc allies)
7 - 51

The Lysimachids had the advantage of terrain, with most of their troops on higher ground. The Thracians were unperturbed and attacked uphill anyway. There was clearer terrain on the Thracian left and the Thracians put nearly all of their cavalry there. Despite having fewer lancers than the Lysimachids, they had more cavalry overall, as well as some infantry support, and eventually were able to wipe out the Lysimachid right flank. In the centre, it was a terrific struggle as the Thracians clawed their way up the low hill. Some were thrown back, but they attacked again and again. The Lysimachids fought back manfully and had many a successful attack here, but the Thracians held on by the skin of their teeth long enough for the arrival of reinforcements from the cavalry battle to tip the scales. The Thracians refused their right flank, and the Lysimachids were only just beginning to get into contact and push it back when the game finished. A well played game that could have gone the other way if the Thracians in the centre hadn't held out despite in some cases being fragmented.
