Ranked Games - Surrendering

I've been playing a few ranked games but I'm confused about how it works when it comes to the other player surrendering. I was just one turn from a good win in a game when the opponent surrendered and there was no change in my ranking, while in another game I was well ahead at 10 to 36 when another player surrendered and my ranking actually went backwards 15 ranking points (from 1034 to 1049), how could I be so far ahead when he surrendered and be classed the loser?
Is there a problem with the ranking system when players surrender in FoG II?

This is ridiculous the same player surrendered in the mirror game when I was well ahead and now I've gone from 1049 to 1064.

The ELO ranking system in Ancients is bugged. Elo scores should go up when you win a game.

Currently the system reverses the ranking adjustments for completed games if they are played to a finish, but scores them correctly if a player surrenders. (High Elo score is better, not worse).

So the surrendered games were scored the right way round, it is the others that aren't.

Not sure about the cause of this one.

We are working on fixing the issues. (The difficult part being to do so without breaking anything else).

When it is fixed we will reset all the scores.

Okay that explains it.

So when you say reset you mean everyone will go back to 1000 point or the scores will be adjusted to represent what they should have been. I did wonder why when I checked my ranking history it seem to be the wrong way round.

There are already quite a few ranked games being played in good faith so if it is going to reset to 1000 points perhaps you should remove the option to play ranked till it's fixed.

Would be impossible to reconstruct.

There have been several announcements on the forum to explain the issue. We can't remove the option to play ranked games without updating the client. Also we want to be able to see what happens once the fix hgas been inserted.
