Extra suppression

As I near 2500 hours played, I find myself wondering every so often how do some units do extra suppression, e.g., a unit with 8 shots today inflicted 4 kills and 5 suppression. There were 4 kill rolls and 4 suppression rolls. Anyone have any idea?

that one extra wasnt suppressed from before, right?

Correct. I normally notice these when units kill/suppress enough to surrender enemy units even though there isn't technically enough shots to do so.
