SEMI FINAL RESULTS

Results as of 2400 4th December 2023

Final update -
Semi-final 1 has been won by TANG defeating previous Champions Furor Gallico by 12 points to nil with three wins and one incomplete game.

Semi-final 2 has been won by Pershing's Pikes with 10 points (two wins and a draw) to Armchair Heroes 6 points (one win and a draw).

Congratulations to Pershing's Pikes and Tang who meet in the final.

Armchair Heroes and Furor Gallico face off in the third/fourth place play off.

The threads for challenges and results for thes matches are posted.

FINAL RESULT

TANG are WTC Champions

Pershing's Pikes 2nd Place

Armchair Heroes 3rd Place

Furor Gallico 4th Place

The final update of tables was 2400 GMT 22nd December

Tang and Pershing's Pikes competed for the Champions title.
A rematch as both qualified from Group A in the Group Stage.

Furor Gallico and Armchair Heroes fought it out for 3rd place.

Updated 16th December
Early leads for Tang, in the final, and for Furor Gallico, in the Play-Off, with Lucius Sulla of Tang and Dim30 of Furor Gallico posting wins in their games.

Updated 19th December
Tang increase their lead in the final with feuilliant1017 of Tang adding a second win to Lucius Sulla's. Tang now having an 8-0 lead means Pershing's Pikes have to win both remining games. The 3/4th Play-Off now hinges on the last game as ericdoman1 for Armchair Heroes matched Dim30's win for Furor Gallico while Stones1985 and Sennacherib finished with a 2-2 draw. Their match is tied at 6-6 but Armchair Heroes' greater margin of victory give them the advantage (correct attribution of losses in the draw being checked).

No further results in the Final - Tang still with an 8-0 lead means Pershing's Pikes have to win both remining games.
The 3/4th Play-Off's last game was a win for Kroche giving a match win for Armchair Heroes over the last competion's champions Furor Gallico. The match is completed as a 10-6 win for Armchair Heroes.
Many congratulations to Armchair Heroes for 3rd Place and also to Furor Gallico for their 4th place in the competition [/size].

Final Update 22nd December
With two games to complete Tang held an 8-0 lead meaning Pershing's Pikes had to win both remining games.
Both of the final games were close but had not reached turn 24 by the tournament deadline.
Thus both games have ended as close 2-2 draws giving Tang the match with a score of 12-4 and Pershing's Pikes are runners up.
Armchair Heroes had already gained 3rd Place and Furor Gallico achieved 4th place in the competition.
Congratulations to all four teams on reaching the finals and their top spots.

3-4th play off.

Dim30 from furor Gallico beat IMC from Armchair heroes. 45%-60%

A very hard battle. Having a disavantage about mobility and missile men, I had no other choice to close. Terrain was hard for me with some rough grounds and and gentle hill for IMC. So it was a strong on strong attack, with a good defense by heavy chariot. Luckily for me, my thureo and thorakitai was a lot better than my opponent troups. After having suffered heavy losses by missile, my infantry got the upper hand and manage to break their opponents..
