Industry connections in SCW
How useful (or not) is this trait in SCW ? Is there any chance I get PZ III or PZ IV early versions ?
Re: Industry connections in SCW
Not useful at all!
I played SCW more than 25 times and according to my notes the Italians get 85% of the prototypes, which is strange as they are only aux units. And you don't get any Pz III's or Pz IV's!

Totally not worth it. The only benefit is that you'll get some of your units earlier than usual, like the Ju 87A or 8.8 FlaK. But so what? And that's not even for certain either.
Industry Connections is only good for '39-42 for me. After '42 I never select it.

IC in 43 and above offers some real high end hardware, This can be quite gamebreaking, like the kv-2 in 39.
@OP I wouldnt pick IC in scw, like funeral and adiekman said, you recieve the IC units a little later.

Bee, my feelings on this stem from the fact that in early war your tanks really are not better than the Allies. Not until you get the Mk. IVF2 and beyond. The main thing I like about IC is for getting the better panzers earlier. However, after '42, you get superior panzer already so having a Panther A over a D for instance is not really a big enough deal for me to invest a point into it. Plus, I never use SP artillery. I keep my same artillery from '40 onwards to the end, usually 3x 15 cm, 2x 21 cm, and 1x Wurfrahmen 40. Sometimes a Sturmgeschütz panzer, but even then my other six see the most action. Aircraft situation is similar to the one for tanks so that's why I find no real advantage in it. In mid to late war I depend a lot on my AA, especially if I have camouflage heroes.

Really depends on your settings and playstyle. I always play with limited stock and you can run out of tanks easily, if you are only using IVF/G and tigers and some point. 20 extra panthers are a really fine thing.
Later you can even get a tiger II and jagdtiger way too early, in late 1943 they are unkillable as long as you are not doing some stupid mistakes like putting them in close terrain vs infantry.
Looks like you have a different playstyle, when you use that much artillery. As long as you dont have zero slot heroes your art. requires a lot of core slots, so there is not that much left for tanks

I agree with DefiantXYX, prototypes can make life a lot easier when playing with limited stock. It depends on the roll though. I might start 1943 with 40+ Panthers in my stock or a lot of prototypes that I don't use at all...
From my experience so far, IC was not worth picking in SCW and the AO'45 alternate path, as we ran out of prototype units halfway through AO'45.
Now that I know AO'46 is coming with new goodies, I've stopped playing with my remaining cores at the end of '44.

I quit using IC because the supply is so limited that one mistake and the unit is decimated so it requires Field Repair Hero. which don't seem too plentiful. and I use captured tanks. I concentrate on Chars and Som's early then T-40, 41's,....and KV's. superior anyway. the 6 range of the T's is a game changer. I also try to capture as many Mk IV's as possible. after getting an Aim Assist and an Expert Recon Hero. its the best recon unit on the board.
