Feudal lords rule campaign Round 2

Post by awesum4 »

While waiting for the final battle from round ! we can choose our armies for round 2.

For round 2 the year is 1524, Each player must choose an army from their home country or region from the year 1524.

Please either post your choice here or to me by PM. Once I have all the armies

Spanish-Imperial 1519-1533

I believe this is the only list that applies to Hapsburg Austria for this time slot, please correct if I am mistaken.

I should like to use the Algerian 1518-1545 list, who have answered the summons of Sultan Muhammad al-Burtuqali of the Wattasid Sultunate of Morocco.

That'll have to be Polish 1494-1524 for me again. Same list as last round.

Difficult choice. Stick with the Portuguese, they worked well in the last round but have an obvious weakness. Alternatively try the more versatile Spanish but mess up the force selection because there is so much more choice?

So in contradiction of the KISS principle I will give myself maximum chance to mess up and go with Spanish Imperial 1519 -33.

Looking forward to the match up with Snuggles!!

Andre do the the Feudal Lords with Vassels get to choose who their Vassels do battle with ?
I don't know your method of drawing "who plays who" but would the Feudal Lord have a choice of playing the Vassel's opponent or his own ?

Brian,

no, just as you don't get to choose who you battle. I have a system for deciding who plays who, but I'm not going to reveal it. That leads to endless debates as to who should fight who. Better you concentrate on winning whichever battle you are fighting

A couple of people haven't told me which army they wish to use. In these circumstances rather than delay further they will use the generic army for that country in that year.

The draw for round 2 is;

Dilly using Irish 1494 plays Gribol using Danish 1523
Doyley50 using English 1494 plays GDod using Scots Border Reivers 1500
Peterthe Painter using Spanish-Imperial 1519 plays TyroneC using Teutonic 1494
SMJohnso77 using French 1494 plays awesum4 using Italian 1494
Snugglebunnies using spanish-Imperial 1519 plays KiwiWarlord using Georgian 1494
AkvGoeben using Algerian 1519 plays Linkinbrick using Polish 1494
Lascar using Russian 1494 plays W-Michael using Ottoman 1494

The first player sets up the game, Open Battle, Large Armies in agricultural terrain, password 1523

Feudal Lords Round 2

lascar's 12,868 Russians (36%) defeated W_Michael's 10,674 Ottoman Turks (61%)

Hail to my new liege lord Vasili III, Grand Prince of Moscow. This was another wooly bully cavalry battle.

Brilliant skills displayed upon the Ottomans by my 'wooly bully' Vassal Vasili III.

The French under SMJohnso77 have surrendered to the Italians under awesum4

The French went for high quality with 4 Swiss pike blocks and half a dozen elite Gendarmes. 3 of their Gendarmes got tied up fighting massed arquebus in rough terrain. To extend their line they alternated the Swiss with massed arquebus. The Swiss had one victory against an Italian pike block while another lost to the only Swiss block on the other side, the other 2 bogged down fighting landsknechts and Italian Gendarmes. The other Italian units marched through the gaps between the Swiss units and destroyed the massed arquebus. With their light troops and other gendarmes being out numbered and outflanked the French surrendered.
