Triarii (Germans) draws with Karvon (Catalan Co.) 27-23 in Germans favour.

An intriguing game that covered the whole of a very open map where the Catalans split their force into infantry and cavalry. The infantry took to woods and marsh on the extreme left and the cavalry headed right. So the foot bound Germans tried to stay together and trap the cavalry, an exercise akin to nailing jelly to a wall. In the end the Germans trapped some Catalan cavalry but the Catalan skirmishers and bow armed cavalry moving continuously and well filled their boots shooting up the German flanks and after 24 turns of constant movement it was pretty much honours even.

A tough battle, but a couple of lucky flanks and double drops finished off the Samnites before they could recover. Well played Conteshard. Good game.

Tough slog of a fight, such a grind I'm not sure where the breaking point was, maybe chalk the win up to Roman tenacity.^^ GG to dim, who as always plays well!

Another Pike army, this time less of a grind. The pikes smashed the Roman left, as they fought one on one overpowering the legions, but the Roman right managed to get some flankers to hit from behind, which proved the deciding factor. GG thanks for playing!

klayeckles (neo hitite) DEFEATS carpekm (thracian) 65 to 28

a long drawn out affair, with each army occupying its own hill. the hitites pounded the thracians with arrows while the thracians worked to put superior cav in winning positions. both had some success, but thracian pike and warbands could make no headway in attacking up hill where hitite chariots rained down missiles. as things thinned out the hitites found some gaps and their spearmen ambled into flanking positions...things ended quickly from there...GG!
