Game runs slow on axis operations

Hi,

I'm sure you've heard this complaint often, but I couldn't find any suitable solutions searching Google for this problem. I just upgraded my computer and I'm still having trouble with the game running slowly on axis operations. The vanilla game runs completely fine, which is jarring jumping from AO to vanilla and having all of my inputs respond immediately. The problems are that when I click on a unit, especially planes for some reason, it takes up to 5 seconds for the move planner (?) to show up, (all the dots where you can pick a location on the map to send a unit). The fast forward button is also a nice feature, bypassing the millions of AI units that take their turn one by one, but it seems to be intermittent on whenever it decides to work. I'm playing on Tata in 1945 and it's becoming harder every day to carry on with my game because of how slow things are getting. Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

Other complaints:

-The map is laggy whenever I drag it, or zoom in/out
-Units are pausing for a few seconds before they execute the move order I give them
