Good battle, with half of enemy cavalry leaving the battlefield in pursuit (they missed 4/5 turns, and when returned they were too far away). Anyway the strong Frankish infantry was hard to defeat, and caused a lot of damage. Thanks for the game and good luck for next battles.

Rafydedel (philistine+egyptian) from Montjoie defeats Oscarius (Greek) from Herd of Kiwis 50-9

Greeks came in number, with a large number of spearmen and a wing of chariot and cavalry, but the battleground was conventiently reduced by a river and forest.
On my left wing and center, philistine could use their superior infantry to progressively reduce the greek advantage, on the cavalry side, Philistine heavy chariot maintained the line while lighter ones and bowmen took care of a few mounted ennemy units that had managed to pass through the forest behind my lines.

Philistine could also use their higher missile capacity to reduce the Greek. Shooting had little immediate result in this battle, but Greeks were not lucky with their moral test when adjacent units were breaking.

I had to sacrifice some poor soldiers on my right to essentially get ridden down by the Frankish cavalry, while I focused everyone else on dragging down the tanky Frankish infantry. Much closer than it appears. GG to my opponent, and Bon Chance going forward!
