After struggling in the early stages, the numerically superior Persian Cavalry managed to wear down their Byz mounted opponents, avoiding the strong Byz infantry element. Good Game!

mcfcivo of the Brits lost 32 damage but heidipie of the Poison lost 38
all foot army hidden in woods against all mounted on mostly open plain, little cover
irish being true warriors did as promised and came swarming out of the woods against perhaps too forward moved Persians and
in first few turns irish very lucky in routing both Persiona elefants and then also trapping and swarming several other units
so irish ahead to begin with, but then the persian went 'nomad", no more charging , spread out , bow fire
so the irish had to do the old sweep the nomad army off the board bit, while taking hits etc etc
end result, irish got 3 or 4 persians off board , but obviously took damage doing it
without lucky rout of the elefants probably a Persian victory......SO LIGHT JOSS STICKS TO THE GOD OF IRISH LUCK

Great game which headed to the wire with many units severely worn down from prolonged close combat. Decisive ending is deceptive as it could have gone either way or been drawn.

heidipie of the Poison defeated rockamanbob of Third army, 41 to 8
byzants came forward with their lancers and other mounted against line of spears , viking allies on open plain, kern mob on their right
but in woods to south was massed elite irish, who came swarming onto the open right flank of the Biz, and getting aronud the cataphracts deployed there, slammed into the only 2 units of Biz foot, and sent them running in 2 turns
on Biz left, some kerns died as the lancers redeployed to their left, but then Viking spears redeployed as well and was stand off down most of the line
except that the irish had more units, including some housecarls , and managed to swarm several units in the center
but on the Biz right, as their infantry was being overerun to their rear, the cataphracts were surrounded and swarmed under and there the damage was done, time to head back to Greekland
Irish were lucky there was not more infantry holding the Biz right flank,and the viking spears while taking many arrows did their job of neutralizing the lancers without going yellow from bow fire
