klayeckles (sparta +rome) defeated angusosborne (carthage+ camp) 65 to 35

a long drawn out affair, with the spartans getting an early lead, but carthage cav got to the spartan rear, making it impossible for the spartans to use their numbers to end the game. carthage kept probing for a weakness, and got some flanke attacks late in the day, but the foot were exhausted and as the sun set they auto-broke in numbers, and the battle was lost as the moon rose. GG!

grahamed Carthaginian Hannibal in Italy 216-203BC with Samnite allies beat alexmike1 Seleucid 302-301BC with Lysimachid allies. 21 - 47 (26 difference)

Another well close run game, The battle of Pond gulch!

Selucids deployed with woods to their left a large pond in front and their mighty cavalry wing eagerly looking across the plains.

carthage secreted men behind the hill, in buildings on their left and in woods on rear left flank, but few troops off to their far left.

Selucid cavalry strode forward on their right riding on crushing all (light) opposition.

Carthages samnite allies and other mediums rushed of to their right and ploughed on into the wood supported by a few cavalry. Their main force took the hill to their front and stood quaking as the mighty Phalanx strode forward to assault the hill.

The Phalanx ploughed in and a struggle ensued, could the Phalanx take the hill before the lighter troops lost the wood to Carthage and would the lighter troops aiming for the left of the hill survive.

Meanwhile the Selucid cavalry pressed forward heading between the rough ground and the woods, where more samnites joined their carthaginian colleagues in a rowdy greeting.

perhaps eager to drink at the pond the Carthaginian elephant rushed off the hill to joyfully greet the Selucids whose cavalry were not so happy to meet up.

samnite veterans finished off the Selucid support troops and bore down on the Phalanx from the Phalanx' left side, the counterfeit legion covered by their friendly elephants advance swung toward the other phalanx flank and, even the mighty phalanx could hold on no more.

grahamed Carthaginian Hannibal in Italy 216-203BC with Samnite allies beat Bagatrix1805 Seleucid 300-206 BC 50-60 (10 difference)

Well, what can I say a very very close battle with a very very long time pal (IRL).

Selucids set up with some rough ground but a largely clear field eagerly straining to search for carthages minions.

Carthage meanwhile set up the bulk of their army between two small villages with a few lighter troops in & heading to the woods perhaps for a tea party?, whilst some of their less eager fellows languished in the villages (morning after the night before?)

Smartly the Selucid Phalanx leapt forward (well as much as one can leap with very, very long pike) ably encouraged by their elephant horde. meanwhile the cavalry rushed up toward the Carthaginian 's right flank with lights heading toward the wood. A mighty and long tussle developed around the village on carthage's right with cavalry , lights and support infantry locked in hit and run slaughter of both sides, just in toward the centre Carthage slowly bested the Selucid support infantry whilst the Phalanx and Elephants saw off all opposition.

meanwhile Phalanx and support troops fared far less well in and around the woods and village on carthages left with many brave souls lost to samnite and african veterans and their cavalry support.

Many fine troops washed away before the battle subsided into a slog between Veteran samnites, veteran African spears their counterfeit legion followers and the surviving Phalanx. Over on the Carthaginian baseline having had a whale of a time smashing Carthaginian infantry and chasing horses from the field , tragically the much needed Selucid Elephants only returned to see their abandoned Phalanx friends not quite able to defeat carthage's veterans.

Hard fought, by all, many generals pn both sides fighting and falling with most of the rest fleeing in the bedlam, but in the end Carthage's vets held the day with the only general still standing on the field young Kandualco, son of Himilco, a junior cavalry officer who rushed in to take command of a failing counterfeit legion and now destined to be hailed a glorious hero of the Phoenician people.

Rosedelio (Dabuyids) defeats Zawzgrzyt (Frankish) 60-53

It was a narrow battlefield with an impassable river on one side. While the Dabuyid ranged softened the approaching lancers and spears, they managed to hold against most impacts. The Frankish lancers were enveloping the main Dabuyid battle line. However, one fragged Armoured Horse Archer managed to hold firm in a protracted forest battle on the left, which gave enough time for off-map evaders to come back and rout some cav.

With this, all my games for this section are done!

The team is organised, but I have to buy the Swifter than Eagles DLC as it somehow got lost last time the software got patched and I had to re-install everything.

I am guessing the score will be 0 vs 0. We would need a screenshot by 8th September of present score (top left on screen) so some players may pick up some points. It would mean you'll probably be third. The good news is that the new ELO ratings score indicates if you are promoted and at present. Your rating would be more than 3 players in Division B.

Would it have been easier for a player who has STE to enter period 1. Unless there were no takers so you volunteered and bought it, RESPECT.

Final week. Results need to be in by 23.59 UK time, 9th September.

I have had no complaints from players about slow play and now it would be a bit late.

So adjudications (I hate making these type of call) made will probably be 0 vs 0 for all unfinished games.

However if you able able to send me a screenshot, showing score, top left of screen. It would mean that some of you may receive points.

You can attach it below but it would need to be a png or jpg file
