The score: 51 % - 25 %

The Philistine guard infantry was untouchable, but everything else fell before the Hittite Heavy Chariots. Luckily that was enough for a victory.

The Armenians had a strong defensive position with a tall hill and missile superiority. However, a few good impacts by the Dailami eventually cascaded to cohesion checks that broke apart the Armenian infantry line. Meanwhile, there were multiple Dailami rallies, leading to the score here.

The Arabs had a strong wall of spears and lancers, holding off against the horse archers and Dailami. However, a few gaps eventually formed that allowed a few HA and Dailami to get flank charges in.

spartans managed to take a rocky scarp near the center of the battlefield with superior numbers of skirmishers, while the gauls made movements to encircle the slower spartan army. with hills and woods to protect the spartan flanks the gauls couldn't find a way to penetrate...and the spartans wisely held the high ground in the center, knowing that to chase the flotillas of cav and chariots would lead to disaster. the crafty gaul saw his plan to wipe out the spartans would have to wait for another day.

Division A

Challenge1 Gallic 300-101 with Samnite Allies defeated Morat Seleucid 166-125 with Parthian allies 63-53

A very good fight that saw the Gauls move to a position where they could anchor their right in rough terrain knowing the Seleucids had little Med inf to attack them there. After some initial loses on the left the Gauls were able to stabilise their left flank flank and manoeuvre some shock troops onto the Seleucid right. The dreaded clash with the phalanxes inevitably happened and just as inevitably the warbands started to fall apart. From here on it was a matter of which units would hold and could the Gaulish cavalry attack flanks/rear quickly enough.
The battle could have gone either way until the last few turns when the Gauls were lucky to be able to rout some exposed LI & LC to crawl over the line.

A great game fought against a very honourable opponent! Thanks again for a good one!
