Question about manipulating unit movement

Post by NeoGarland »

Hello everybody,

I have been playing Panzer Corps for a while and enjoy it very much. However, I like to play it my way and therefore like to use mods, too.

But now, I am trying to understand the mechanics behind editing unit values, so that I do not have to rely on mods anymore. My first serious undertaking deals with the "Kradschuetzen". I like their 8 movement points for roads, but I would like them to keep the same number of movement points off the road as well. I have taken a look at the "Units.csv" file, but I am not sure which value I must manipulate in order to reach the desired result.

So, what value do I have to change in general to decide an unit's movement points? And how can I choose for the "Kradschuetzen" to have the same number of movement points off the road as on it?

I hope you guys can help me out here, to further enhance my experience with the game. And I apologise if my questions seem somewhat basic, but I am very new at this sort of thing.

u cannot change the movement cost on certain terrains for only 1 unit.
each unit has a certain number of movepoints. the terrain determines how many movepoints per hex are needed.

u can modify the number of move points and u can modify the movepoints needed for a certain terrain for all units.

a workaround would be to change the movement type of the kradschützen from wheel to 8-wheel, but that would enhance their movement on roads a bit.

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.

Thank you very much for that tip, Thomas. It worked well for me :)
And I thank you too for these threads, dalfrede. The only small question I would have left now, I would like the Ta400 bomber to use the model of the StirlingI, so I copy pasted "StirlingI" into the Ta400's model value in "Units.csv". That, however, did not change anything. It still uses the same model. Do I have to alter another value as well for the change to take effect?
