Hi folks, friendly hint:

From OOB v9.3.4 the changes posted here so far are taken over into the "official" game installation.

Also, they are included as replacements for the original scenarios, meaning the most recent versions you can play now are Bootcamp Battle, Dubno, Arctic Fox without the v2 addition.

They include now all the changes posted in this thread, plus - in case of Arctic Fox - as announced there's one more addition to declare the owner of most gold flags the winner in the end, when nobody reached the full 7 gold requirement at this point.

If you have active games using v2 files from this thread you can play as long as you leave those folders in your installation, but for any new game it's recommended to simply play the standard scenarios under 934.

So I tried the new Bootcamp (classic) and Arctic Fox maps in multiplayer. They were fun and a challenge but pretty hard to win, it ended in 4 draws after a month of play (mostly a turn a day).

With Arctic Fox both players can just add more and low cost units so even after surrounding the Russians 3 times and capturing all but one Flag, blocking the train, still fresh Russian units kept pouring and pouring on my battered units. It would be nice if there was a pause in being able to spam units when most flag are taken by the enemy. With the Finnish troops I was next to the last victory hex with most Russian units surrounded and out of morale, far away, new units kept appearing at the last hex. Most of my other troops were busy keeping the Russians surrounded without killing them to prevent CP's to become available but that is just too much work. So while defending on the railroad town hex I just had to spam Finnish engineers to not be overrun but that also gave no option to break through.

The Bootcamp is more balanced and should be playable enough. With the US I reached the last victory hexes but was beaten back more and more all the way back to next to my own base, just surviving in the last turn. In both games the Japanese player got the upper hand, maybe because the US player tends to buy a bit too expensive tanks at the start and runs out of many. In the game were I played the Japanese the US player did get supply problems, not sure why, but that helped getting closer to his base. In the end with some more turns the Japanese would have won in both games, not sure why.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Arctic Fox should actually give you a victory if you own most Gold hexes at the end, so I have to check why you still get a draw. Will do asap.
