I wonder if anyone knows, Does this game have console commands (aka cheats) like panzers corps has?
Re: Commander the great war
No, it does not.

Use CheatEngine to edit a country's money and population
Keeping Ottoman alive in multiplayer
Any tips on how to keep the ottomans from getting steamrolled? Seems like Brits can do Gallipoli and run up the levant with not much the ottomans can do as they lose resource points. Any tips appreciated
Re: Commander the great war
To help out the Ottomans by sending units via rail CP must try to quickly establish a railroad connection between CP territory and Constantinople. Usually this will go from Belgrade through Nis and Bulgarian territory to Constantinople. So you'll need to heavily attack Serbia until you capture both Belgrade and Nis and wait until bulgaria joins CP.
However there's a big problem to this: Bulgaria won't join CP if the total production strength of the Entente is too high. Usually this happens after Italy has joined Entente. In that case you will see the Bulgarian number for "turns to join" turn red, meaning Bulgaria has stopped moving closer to joining CP.
To solve this dilemma you'll then need to reduce the total Entente production by capturing enough Entente cities, either from France or Russia. Usually going for Russia is easier and capturing Warsaw and a few other Russian cities should get the Bulgarians moving again. Knocking Serbia completely out of the war will also help. As soon as the rail connection is established you can then rail CP units to help the Ottomans.
Basically the game is somewhat forcing the CP player to repeat the historic course of WW1. So if you don't manage to capture Belgrade and Nis and don't capture enough Russian (or French) cities then Bulgaria won't join CP and there'll be no hope for the Ottomans because they can't defend against both Britain and Russia on their own.

Re: Commander the great war
Good insights.
I was wondering why Bulgaria turned red and exactly what that meant. If you reduce Entente production with bombing does that count or is it the capture of the cities that's needed?
Also does the use of gas attack also make it unfavorable for the Bulgarians to join?
Thanks!

Re: Commander the great war
Yes, bombing cities also counts but...
1. it might take too long
2. requires a lot of ammunition which must be provided by heavily investing into ammo factories
3. cities regenerate their production if not constantly bombed.
And by the way: should CP lose any cities this of course also causes problems in regard to Bulgarian willingness to join CP.
About gas attacks: only the alliance that uses gas first suffers a negative consequence and only once. The consequence is a slight penalty on diplomatic relations to all neutral nations that have less than favorable relations with the alliance that used gas. Because Bulgaria has good relations with CP it should not be affected if CP uses gas first but nations like Italy or the US most definitely will.
If on the other hand Entente would use gas first then Bulgaria will be affected and the diplomatic penalty will speed up Bulgaria joining CP by about 6 turns.

Re: Commander the great war
Hey guys, just started playing this game.
I started off in 1918 and the Central Powers, with AI set to Handicapped.
I notice Germany has a TON of garrison troops spread out. Do they need to garrison those cities? Can you combine the smaller Garrison troops into larger troops? And how do you get the small Garrison troops? You can build the larger garrison troops, but not the small ones.
TIA!

Re: Commander the great war
Small garrisons can't be combined into stronger units and can't be produced. They merely serve to protect their cities and can only be moved into adjacent hexes. Since they cost upkeep each turn you might consider disbanding any or even all of them to gain extra production points.
