Re: Commendations, Caches, and Collectables
This seems as good a place as any to ask a question about enemy special characters. Does DeGaulle come back if I manage to kill him at Sedan? He's been a cast-iron bitch with his Prudent trait (and I am using that setting that gives all enemy units +5 strength). I finally have him cornered on a hill, so I can attack him with an infantry unit and kill him. But I don't want to do that if it will deprive me of the challenge in future missions. I know that killing off whatshernames' brother in SCW meant that he didn't come back...

Yes, he will be back, no matter how many times you kill him.

Killing De Gaulle could be a perfect elite objective. I think you can kill him 3-4 times, so if you do that you get some tokens and you can use them to get a speciell hero, or maybe his tank with some speciell traits...plenty of options

I'd love to see a "battlefield promotion" type hero for an accomplishment like this. As I have said before, I hate special units. I like heroes. I know not everyone feels that way. The best option would be an event that gives you the choice between a hero or a special unit.DefiantXYX wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 7:18 am Killing De Gaulle could be a perfect elite objective. Re: Commendations, Caches, and Collectables
Hmm, I'm a bit confused.
I've chosen to go Belgium route in 1940, and picked up Elsa Kloss.
However, it seems I cannot get the infamous Neubelfar tank if I do that. Whereas, I'm pretty sure I managed to pick it up when I went the Holland route before.
Has something changed, or am I missing an objective somewhere? I'm tallying up my commendations and I'm picking up the exact amount as in the guide, which even the guide would be 1 short of getting the Neubelfar tank if taking Elsa (by 1).
Anyone able to clear that up?

Re: Commendations, Caches, and Collectables
All I can say it that is always worked for me.
Are you sure you got all optionals?
Or do you end the scenario too early? The Neubaufahrzeug event triggers in one of the last turns, if you are too fast you wont get it.

I'm doing AO 40 again right now and I got Elsa and the Neubaufahrzug as well in Belgium.

You have to wait until you finish that bonus objective, and then the event pops up at the start of the next turn. If you finish the scenario in the same turn, you miss the event.RVallant wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 5:55 pm Hmm, I'm a bit confused.

That was indeed the issue, thank you.

That's four heroes in one unit! how?QSertorius wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 1:29 am I noticed that my new best friend, Elsa Kloss, cannot be put on my beloved armored train. So, I stuck her on my new rocket launchers instead. I think this will end up being an absolutely devastating unit. Five ammo, three range, double attack, rapid fire (has it by default).

Has a list been done for 1945 missions yet at all? I've played through some of the alt history campaign and found a few stashes of planes but nothing much else.

Going to Berlin is meant to have you killed, buried together with the last struggle of the Reich.
Heading to Salzburg would save you, and let you know the end of Wagner. Note that in this scenario your faction is set to the Condor Legion, which means you would lose access to almost all German equipment.
The choice decides the ending of your campaign.

Re: Commendations, Caches, and Collectables
Im still amused about that name. Most germans know her name very well, but not because of her participation in WWII. After the war she founded the first "sexshop" in the world, and her company is still out there and operating.

Re: Commendations, Caches, and Collectables
Guess they should have given her Shock Tactics.

Indeed. More interesting history lessons from a game.
