PS4 unit pathing how to question
How do you get ground units with the PS4 controller to enter specific hexes during a move to a location? For example I'm right next to a town in Norway with an airfield above this same town and I want my infantry unit to enter the airfield first and then occupy the town itself as the end move. But the pathing arrow won't conform to this and I don't see how to manually make it do so. Lack of movement points is not the issue. Anyone know how to do this on the PS4? Very frustrating as it means I must stop on one and only on the next turn take the other.

No one playing on the PS4 knows what I am talking about?

Can't really help you with PS4 issues as I play on my PC but if I'm not wrong (which I usually are
) it's not possible unless the unit has the Flexible Pathing Trait (Panzer 2 or Stuart comes in mind). At least thats how it works on my PC.

Re: PS4 unit pathing how to question
Yeah I have noticed that Recon units for example can take what looks like a second move to possibly use up all their remaining MPs. I can also understand why in a FOW type game like this one you would not want to allow one hex at a time movement (exposing hidden units and thus obviating ambush for example) so I am not advocating that. I just want to choose a legal path to a destination..
As I described for in my original post I am directly adjacent to a city and an airfield in Norway in a sort of triangle formation with a German infantry type unit with a movement of 6. Easily the unit should be able to move to both on the same turn but the arrow pathing makes it impossible thus costing me another turn to seize both the city and airfield with the same unit.
I am able to more or less work around it this time but I could see this at some time later in the Blitzkrieg campaign costing me. Guess I better save more often though I don't like to reload unless I accidently move a unit I didn't want to or something like that. But so far except for me being somewhat confused by movement point issues over certain terrain by units I thought could or could not have made it to their positions (Is there a chart somewhere that show MP expenditures for each type of unit including tracked or rubber wheeled?) it seems a pretty good port to this console.

Saw that. I need to know how much certain terrain types cost to move through. I swear sometimes I'm on a road going through woods and it seems to be charging me for the woods and not the road. Or does the road merely reduce the woods cost a bit?

Re: PS4 unit pathing how to question
Ok I'm not 100% sure about this but a unit without the Flexible Pathing Traitwill always move to the chosen hex the most efficient way even if it's only 2 hexes. But don't forgot that the game uses Fog of War and therefore the unit might not be able to reach the hex you aimed for as there was a hidden pillbox or inf units zoc you ran into.
The Unit navigator has the show terrain button on each unit. Click on it and it will show how many haexes that unit moves in different terrain in the different climates there is ingame.
Regarding roads throu woods and pine forests.......Depends on the road and what unit type. Can't really tell for sure without testing but I know that roads doesn't matter for some units in Pine Forest.

Re: PS4 unit pathing how to question
Putting my PS4 cursor on an empty hex and bringing up the terrain report only tells of attack, defense, efficiency loss for either the terrain type or naval disembarking. It gives nothing for movement points spent.
Putting the cursor on a unit gives me among other things the "i" (info) button which gives me all sorts of info about the unit including total movement points but not MP spent on a specific terrain type either on the terrain the unit is currently sitting on nor any other. There is no terrain specific icon to select while the cursor is on a unit--only the info icon.
From experimenting it seems that infantry pay 2 MP per clear hex, probably 1 MP per town and airfield hex, the manual says one half the the current other terrain a road is going through and a forest I'm not sure of maybe 3 or 4 MP. Not entirely sure about infantry on a dirt road versus a paved road. Transport ed infantry and guns depend on the type of track rubber wheeled versus tracked.
Tanks and other armored vehicles such as SP guns but not including armored recon cars pay 1 MP per Clear terrain so it should be one half MP on at least paved roads (not sure about dirt roads). Don't know about forests but I think at least 4 MP and maybe 5? So half that number on a road.
Does this seem right? Anyone can feel free to correct this and I have no idea about seasonal or weather effects. So far I have only bought the Blitzkrieg scenarios. Don't know if I will buy more until I understand this stuff a little better.

Re: PS4 unit pathing how to question
Well what I meant was that you can get that information from the Unit Navigator webpage, it's mantained by Mojko and approved by the developers of the game. I did put a link in my previous post andhere's how you get the info.
At the top choose type (for example tank), then choose faction (Germany) then scroll to the tank you need info about.
Click on the green rektangle named "Show Terrain" and then hover your mouse over the different colored columns under a terrain type.
The columns represent the climate (dry, wet, winter and arid) and hoovering over them will get you how many tiles the unit will move and also on the different road types.
See my attached picture for help.

Re: PS4 unit pathing how to question
Well thank you for that-I somehow missed that tab on that page. Until I memorize some of these numbers it will be a bit of a pain running back and forth to my comp and my PS4 to check the tables. Whomever compiled this list deserves a shout out for the work it must have took compiling the info.
And yet my original question still cannot really be answered in that I should have been able to take both the town and airport in one move. There were no hidden units in either as I was adjacent to both at the start of the turn. And no other enemy units nearby. Seems I will have to live with these occasional AI hiccups.
