Each army was working at dominating the other army left flank while center of phalanxes engaged each other.
Phalanxes fights were unpredictable as usual. A few of them were resolved quickly and the battle finished before the wings could do their flanking job.
the vikings formed on a hill and the irish moved to flank them on both sides. however before flanking was done , more gung ho viking spears charged off the hill in the center. that did not go well against irish heavy weapons, and then the elite irish hit the viking left flank and took it out....on otther flank, the vikings took out entire irish side but too much damage done in center and other flank...was nasty all around

Stones1985 (Urartian 749-585BC with Cimmerian Allies) beat ericdoman1 (Makkan 890-310BC) by a score of 62 to 56.
A really close game throughout with the early lead changing hand several times. Eventually though the Makkan camel horde started to wilt and tire under intense archery and the Urartians got the upper hand. Eric's army managed a late comeback but the Urartians just managed to see things out.
