Close game, with a big combined arms melee between Palmyran Cats and Roman inf vs Byzantine Lancers and dismounted Lancers, being the key confrontation. The Cats just had the edge defeating their lesser armoured opponents and the Bizzie left wing collapsing after a long hard fought melee.

A very scrappy game that could have gone either way. My line was in complete disarray at the end. However, my Romans managed to beat his Romans. The terrain was terrible for me. There was a non-clear terrain type stream running across the table and one small patch of rough terrain but I was able to use it to fend off the cataphract charges. Successful cataphract charges led to pursuits that took too long to return. The rhomphaia men did well, chopping up cataphracts, but so did my Romans, and my cavalry managed to hold off his cavalry on my left flank.
