Spartan/Classical Greek camp reference images...

Post by cbaginski »

Hello all!

I have set my Samurai army aside for the time being, until the Field of Glory Asian supplement is released – in the meantime, I have decided to put together a Spartan/Classical Greek 28mm army.

I have sourced out a ton of great figures – many thanks to gorgon-studios.com :D – but I still need to put together my camp. I definitely want to include a dokana, but I am having a devil of a time finding reference illustrations for a Classic Greek camp.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

or, perhaps if I am really lucky, anyone know of suppliers for 28mm Classic Greek camp scenery?

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris,
Baueda sells a very beautifull dokana (also Greek tent), but it's for 15mm.
If you want to check a photo to built it please visit the website:

In the photo attached of one of my Greek camp (I have another one with a Spartan dokana) you can see a Greek column I bought on eBay (it's suitable for 28mm)

Nice looking camp!

I have seen the Baueda pieces and they are *very* nice.

I am recently into historicals (I come from 2 *decades* of WHFB/40K experience) so alot of this is brand new to me.

I dont mind converting/modelling - I actually quite enjoy it to an extent; considering that there will be fewer chances to convert/model from what I am accustomed to, I look forward to the opportunities to make custom command bases and camps - so I dont necessarily have to have pre-made scenery... good reference illustrations of what greek tents/camps would have looked like would be just fine for me :)
