Re: Attack! 2023 at Devizes
We now have 10 players for Attack! next week,
Ray Boyles - Habsburg Austrian Imperial
Chris Beesley - Anglo-Dutch
Andy Kitcher- Bavarian
David Burrows - Jacobite Irish
Paddy Bray - Later Louis XIV French
Jerry Bray - Anglo-Dutch
Keith McGlynn - Anglo-Dutch
Tom Elsworth - Anglo-Dutch
Lynnette Maxim/ Dene Green - Scots Jacobites
Bob Medcraft - Bavarian
Surprising only one French army. The Jacobite Irish can have 4 French units.
Tom and Jerry are only playing on the Sunday - so that gives 8 players on the Saturday and 10 on the Sunday.
I can complete the draw as I want to keep club member and as many allied armies apart in Round 1 and possibly Round 2.

10 8 Tom Elsworth League Of Augsburg Anglo-Dutch 0 0 5 2 0 0 8 5 13
Tom Elsworth and Jerry Bray only played on the Sunday
Dene Green and Ben Jones played one day each as a team. Dene scored 46 points and Ben 29 points
The result showed that with a good General James II could still have been King and we would be a Roman Catholic country.
Keith unfortunately had to retire during the 4th Game feeling unwell and we all hope he is feeling better today. He was doing reasonably well considering he had not played version 2 of the rules before.
A big thank you to Phil Mackie and the other members of the Devizes And District Wargames Group for a great show and organising the competitions.
Also a big thank you to all the players who took part/
In the last two years we have played theme based on the late period of the Renaissance. We need to start thinking what our theme should be for 2024. If we follow logically the theme for 2024 should be early (Italian Wars but it would be nice if we could find a theme whilst early was not in western Europe. However, that requires all players to have a suitable army. Thoughts are welcomed.
