Nice discussion on the merits of a game adaptation

Post by martin_00792 »

40k radio is a Warhammer 40 000 based podcast, (For those not in the Know, 40k is a gothic fantasy table-top wargame). A few weeks ago, they had a nice call-in segment on the merits of video-game adaptations of tabletop rules. Their case in point on this episode is the new game Blood-bowl ( a tabletop fantasy American football game ) by Cyanide that is literally a direct adaptation of the tabletop rules.

It starts at 57:14 with a discussion of the closure of vassal 40k, but then digresses into the merits of adaptations.

As a asside, I would be for a direct adaptation since it would be a great learning tool, and create more consistency between far flung clubs.
