Army choices (I edited my earlier post in May, but I noted a separate post with armies was preferred)

1. Polish 1455-1500 w/ Hussite allies
2. Tatar 1340-1500 w/ Ottoman allies
3. French 1484-1500

Today's the last day for entries. We need three more entries to make three full divisions of 10.

The rules as written seem quite straightforward. The armies for a certain period must exist within that period. For example, a Bronze Age army must exist between 2500-701 BC and a Classical army must exist between 700-25 BC.

An army that exists in both periods is eligible for use in either period. However, I don't believe it would be legal for the same player to select the same army for both periods in the same tournament season.

I believe the listing of DLCs in the period rules is meant to let players know what DLCs they need to have to be able to choose from the full roster of available period armies.

The rules seem clear to me, if an army fits the dates then it is valid.

'All DLCs are used for the specific periods.

The tournament will be made up of 6 distinct periods rather than DLCs.'

and

'All armies and allies can be used as long as they fit into the time periods.'

However if an army has to match a DLC then fair enough though am sure there will be quite a few other entries invalid.

Waiting on the guys for a decision. If none is forthcoming by the end of today, 2nd June. Then it's OK. I'll change the rules for each period. It makes it easier:) You are the only "invalid" entry so far:)

some of us may not have all the dlcs (me for one)--seems like there are quite a few other choices on the books that one could work with

This method seems about the simplest method for knowing what armies you have to choose from. You log into Field of Glory II, go to the "Create Skirmish" screen, on the right on the bottom you set the year range and the list of armies available within that year range is displayed. Any armies in DLCs you don't have are marked to indicate that. Look over the available armies and decide on the three you want. This method doesn't require anyone to maintain a list of armies allowed in a period, the game does it for you. Less work for the organizers and no human error introduced creating the lists of available armies.
