Guys,

If the Roman Principes first wheel around on their right flank until they are parallel to the archers and then advance to contact, then they will stop on the first line of contact with

the archers. They will not enter the ZoI of the cavalry and so there will be no interception permitted.

This option is not explained in the rules.

So if not redundant, the picture is possibly not the best example.

I understand what your saying, yes if you wheeled the cavalry could'nt intercept.
