So I scored a Major Victory at Peninsula Invasion but I still drop 14 points in the ranking.
I did have a bit lower points than my opponent, I did that for testing purposes off course.
The big question is how will this be in future tournaments right?
can I win with 43 points while my opponent loses with 114 points.
How can this be used/corrected/solved/changed in tournament play.
Will the Victory count or will the points count?
Rhetorical question, just a nice example of the current situation.

Edited the wrong scenario name in the earlier version of this post.
When saving a game or replay it always shows the name of the last save instead of the name of the current game.
Is that a bug or am I just very stupid?

Re: Major Victory Peninsula Invasion -14 points in ranking
I also wonder what would have happened if I had resigned before the last turn was played. Maybe I should try that next time while informing my opponent about that choice, for testing reasons. Would I end up with more or less points when the gold flag was not taken? How high would my opponent score?
Re: Major Victory Peninsula Invasion -14 points in ranking
The change in ranking points is entirely based on your comparative ranking points, not the in-game victory points.
This situation on Peninsula invasion where you get a "victory" despite a heavy loss in VP is probably a bug in the game logic. The rankings system has seen that you lost on points and so awarded your opponent the victory.
I should probably give the British player some bonus points if they do successfully hold on to one or more bridges though...

Great catch on the Resign idea though, just tested that and the player with more VP "won" on Elo Rankings, even if they were the one to resign! one to fix
Re: Major Victory Peninsula Invasion -14 points in ranking
Thanks for the tip! Will resign more
For the rest I was referring to ideas in earlier threads about changing the scoring system.
This would be a great example of that not working at the moment, I mean, using the Victory or Defeat end result to rank players. Just my 2 cents..

Re: Major Victory Peninsula Invasion -14 points in ranking
So, for games where there's no Tournament victory point system plugged in, the game essentially reports 1 point for the winner and 0 points for the loser, according to the Victory received.
Major and Minor are used too irregularly for us to use as a classification

So, essentially, I, sort of unplugged, won
