So with the Empire on its last legs and the Valois armies conquering almost all we arrive at the year 1530. Wil the empire finally fall?

Any Habsburg player except Kiwiwarlord or GDodd can choose Italian 1494-1530
Any Habsburg player except SMJohnso77 can choose English 1494-1542
Any Habsburg player can choose Austrian 1520-1533
All other Habsburg players will use Spanish-Imperial 1503-1533

Snugglebunnies or AHuyton can choose Scottish 1494-1557
Any Valois player can choose Danish 1523-1542
Any Valois player except PeterthePainter or AHuyton can choose German States 1494-152
All other Valois players will use French 1526-1549

I will stick with the French please. I started my last battle with them with trepidation but they did much better than I thought they would so I should show faith in them.

Awesum4 (32%) has retaken Austria from Doyley50 (60%)

The armies were almost even in numbers but taking the small Spanish pike and the Colonelas meant I had lots more solid foot units.
His Swiss rushed at me but as they weren't in a solid line I managed to get multiple units into his landsknecht pike, accepting that the Swiss would eventually win and then pursue for several turns.
My one unit of Gendarmes snuck through a hole and ran down both his artillery, while colonelas and massed arquebus helped by skirmishers destroyed his Gendarmes.
While his Swiss eventually got back into melee it was too late as I'd swamped the rest of his army.
A good game against a good opponent who unfortunately was unable to use the strengths of his army against a greater number of solid Spanish units.
