Gates of Troy, Spartan now working with Wine 1.9 Staging
For the benefit of the one or two other Linux users out there:) Spartan and Gates of Troy now run without issues on Linux with Wine Staging 1.9.20(and possibly earlier 1.9.x versions). Only thing not tested was the LAN game. I'm using the propietary Nvidia drivers and had set the game to 3D or it wo...

Game pace and population growth
I like the idea of having longer games with slower production and research but it doesn't appear to affect population growth. Won't have a chance to test it til later but I'm concerned it could make the game far too difficult at the slower speeds. Or force the player to prioritize the habitat, pollu...

Re: Backstory / Dialogue
Divine Ascencion when offering a treaty, non-aggression(?) , starts off with "it came to me in a golden shower". Is that supposed to be joke or you never heard of that particular sexual fetish?

UI feedback
I know a little late in the game with release coming up but anyway... 1. When forgetting non-combat units can't attack, like transports, and right clicking on an enemy unit the game will plot a really strange route for the unit. Like for a transport it will plot a route that takes the unit back to l...

Re: Request For Mac and Linux Testing
Just did a quick test run with Nouveau drivers v9.2.2 on an Asus(Nvidia) 430 GT 1Gb DDR3. Playable and no noticeable graphical glitches, in the short time I played, but a little 'sluggish'. Scrolling and animations like the rotating circle around units I'd guess was somewhere around 80% the speed of...

Aquatic techs?
Are there any techs in the game for improving water tiles? As in fish farms, drilling platforms, undersea mining, etc...

Re: Version 0.26.0 Released
I've tried a game each with the 32 and 64-bit Linux versions and both ended with a CTD. Emailed logs and savegames for each.

Re: First impressions Linux and questions
Thanks SephiRok. I plan to try out the 64-bit version with Manjaro(Arch Linux) this weekend.

First impressions Linux and questions
Trying the Linux 32-bit version on Mint 13(Ubuntu 12.04). My first impression hasn't changed after several hours of gameplay. Pandora is a clone of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Civ series games. Obviously there's a few minor differences but nothing that really stands out as being original. Not say...

I had a game up for over an hour last night but no takers. May or may not do the same tonight. What I did, and will probably keep doing, is just leave it open with a message of what time I started it and I'll be checking every 15-20 minutes. On the off chance anyone is interested hang out and wait f...

Any chance of more historical Legion add-ons?
Pretty much what the title says. I for one would like to see someone finally cover the Late Roman/Patrician period maybe going as far as the early Byzantines. Pretty much untouched period of history in wargames. Don't know if it'd be a bane or a boon but historical info is sketchy at best so a lot o...

The flaming pig's are debatable but possible. Already been done long before RTW try finding a copy of GMT's SPQR board/wargame. If you want a real laugh search for info on Russian tank dogs in WW2. The best use of elephants was in training your horses to be familiar with them. Something not modeled ...

How did you access the .bmf files? What sofware did you use? Could you possibly post, in more detail, what you found in them? Simple hex editor. Plenty around for free like XVI and Hackman Lite. Theres some text and quite a few values I have no clue what they are. I would guess some are the formati...
