- How would equipment differences between units be represented in the game? For example, the Eighth Army received Grant and Sherman tanks whose 75 mm high-explosive shells made quite a difference against both German tanks and AT guns, replacing the ill-equipped 2-pdr Crusader plagued by mechanical p...

Re: What's in a name?

How about "El Alamein: Showdown in the Desert War"?
It would capture the spirit of both the First Alamein, when the British decided there would be no retreat from the face of over-stretched Axis forces, and the Second one when they grimly held the line at Alam Halfa.

Re: One Book On...Drive on Moscow - Suggest your own

For a concise and engaging overview of the Eastern Front I would recommend "Hitler's War on Russia" by Charles D. Winchester, published by Osprey in the "General Military" collection. On a related note, I found some places on the DoM map like Pogar, Pochep and Trubchevsk to sound...

Re: Nominate Your Favorite Battle of the Bulge Space

My vote goes to Eupen, a place that looks tailor-made for highly effective defensive battles. On more than one occasion I forced the Axis player to take the long way around the Northern Shoulder by clinging on to this spot. When playing as Allies, the Eupen defense looks very much like the actual ba...

Re: Drive on Moscow Announced

Thanks for the clarifications! I like that you are adding some variation to the rule concerning behavior of units cut-off from supply, it would make the Axis more careful about mopping up adversaries on the flanks instead of charging head-on. Would you consider a change for units that are cut-off bu...

Re: Drive on Moscow Announced

I missed the online Q&A, but from the recording it looks like some solid gameplay will be heading to our devices once you launch DoM. Would the railway available to Soviet troops also have an effect on logistics, or would only be used for moving units farther? Will the out-of-supply mechanics be...

Re: Luck of the Draw Scenario

The same thing happened to me during a Game Center match, I was playing the Allies and already on the 20th there wasn't much to do than wait for replacements. I did get to battle 1 SS Pz in Huy and force it to retreat, but lost the game on 23rd (Axis had 57 VPs). I couldn't shake the feeling of &quo...

Re: Question about AI behaviour in Race to the Meuse

I enjoy playing longer scenarios against vonM, since he tends to follow the historic flow of the battle by focusing on the center of the front. In the RttM scenario, it is indeed a challenge to hold Bastogne, but it can be done by weakening the north side under the assumption that vonM won't attack ...

Question about AI behaviour in Race to the Meuse

I noticed after several Race to the Meuse games against von Manteuffel that it seems to avoid the northern route to the objective (Trois Ponts - Werbomont or Verviers - Herve). When playing Bitter End and Battle of the Bulge scenarios, von Manteuffel focused the attack on the central area around Bas...
