I really look forward to seeing figures for Irish Confederates and Montrose's Scots in 15mm. I have considered small armies of both for DBR for some time now. A figure range covering the Irish could easily make this choice easier...

I do hope there will be a brief summary of the event.

I for one am very interested in the 650 point, 5'x3', 2.5 hour format. So much so that while having a cuppa this afternoon I dug out Nik's Slingshot article on the same event in 2008.

Have you considered the early option, the armoured spearmen are worth the extra points when you face in period opponents, even as late as the middle age foot in open tourneys. I wondered if the armoured hoplites would be better in open turnaments. However, unless using Thessalians there is a reduct...

Maybe convert them to one of the other armies post 450 that have allied Greeks or use hoplites that are armoured ? When I will play my own Greek army against Persians certainly I will use armoured hoplites, this because it's more historical and we play always historical match up, even when we play ...

I've changed the description of the hoplites, to make the intent clearer. In addition I have removed the Light Horse and replaced with one additional BG of cavalry as suggested earlier.

Yes I realise that :)

Mercenary hoplites from 450 BC or Citizens from 370BC was the intent, both providing a drilled hoplite upgrade. I should have said drilled hoplites to avoid further confusion.

Thanks for your reply.

I was using the term "Citizen" hoplites as interchanable with mercenary before 370BC. The aim was to have all the hoplites as "drilled". Though undrilled is of course an option and could be better. Completely missed the limit on Light Horse, not sure how!

Classical Greeks - Starting out

Hi, I have yet to play FOG and am still working my way through the rules. However, I'm starting to turn my attention to rebasing and adding some figures to a 15mm Classical Greek army which has been in storage for a few years. I would appreciate some advice, and sample lists suggestions at 600 and 6...

Is access being granted in stages or if access doesn't work today can I assume we were not accepted as testers?

My question was kindly answered on the Yahoo Fog Mailing list. It seemed the basic list, mentioned above, had an error in it. My logic wasn't flawed, at least this time. There are several ways of resolving it. One being to swap the Spartan Javelinmen and Athenian archers between contingents and chan...

Classical Greek Allied Contingent

Trying to understand the list implications for Classical Greeks. The Persian Wars Greek Greek Starter army, Immortal Fire Pg 6, has two allied contingents. A Corinthian Allied command and an Athenian Allied command. The Athenians have one BG with 6 archers. There is no such option in the "Class...

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

Based on the responses here I think I shall try some round bases and hopefully not be tossed out of a tournament as a result.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I haven't played FOG so my question is as a FOG newbie. I'll therefore ask for some further clarification. The rules indicate that if you use a commander in the frontline you place it in the front and displace the front element, page 99. But the fact you have pictures o...

Commander Basing

Hi, I believe I read on another forum that FOG commanders can be based on round bases and that as such it makes the commanders standout compared to other elements. Is this correct or does it create issues and is not therefore acceptable? Trying to think of ways that Greek hoplite, Roman, Carthaginai...
