Re: Britcon 2014 Thread - including the Nemesis Challenge

So are the results going on to player rankings anytime soon, or has Dave lodged a constitutional challenge? :?:

Cancon Australia 2015

hi all The format for the annual Cancon Field of Glory event (held in January 2015) will change a touch this year. We are going to try something different from the usual 6 games of 800 points on 6x4 tables. This year we will have 8 games of 650 points on 5'x3'4" tables. 3 games on each of...

Re: The Worlds 2014 - FoG-AM-results

Have arrived home in Australia after a most enjoyable 2 competitions - played 12 people who I have not previously faced which was great. Game 1 - Drew Ferdi, no pressure at all for game 1! And Ferdi had some pikes, some more pikes and then finished off with a few more bg's of pikes. Bit tricky for t...

Re: Britcon Runners and Riders

Good news - little men have made it through customs and are on their way - next stop Manchester via Dubai - 25 hours + on getting in at midday Friday - might need a beer to freshen up for that first game.

It would be nice to see "The Emporer" again. Will also be nice to catch up with Brett Kvisle and the other Antipodeans. Hopefully Shaun Drummond and Glenn will be making it over, I guess it depends!
I'm pretty sure that both will be there.

Re: Flank marches and dismounting

So just to be clear- if I turn up to Britcon with Arab Conquest I have an army where the list allows the Jund cavalry to dismount as superior spear men. I elect at the correct part of set up to flank march 2 units of these on the left flank. When (if) they successfully arrive I can choose, at that t...

Re: Britcon 2014 - introducing the Nemesis Challenge

I think it's a great idea - will definitely take part if it is offered, although Pete Dalby is in other field (medieval). How do we choose who gets Ruddock - rock, paper, scissors on the night?

How did Graeme run his Arab Conquest - mainly spear men, cavalry or balanced?

Assuming I get across, I was thinking of flying to Berlin after Manchester, and working back to Koblenz from there.

Tournament Ideas

Seeking positive ideas where you have seen good ideas put into action for tournaments. What is different that has worked well? Describe the tournament, the way it was set up, and how it was run. An example may be the International Teams Tournament on at present - this could be run in a similar way a...

Re: Competition ideas

So we know that numbers of people coming together to play in competitions is decreasing, as people become more time poor, and as other interests mean that players drift off to other periods, rule sets, or completely new things to do. I am going to start up a new thread in the Tournaments section whe...

Re: Ideas

It would be interesting to see a graph tracking the number of people playing FoG comps each quarter since the start. Whilst not all FoG players enter competitions, I think it is likely to show a decline in player numbers, probably increasing. So as a keen player I would love to see innovative ideas ...

Most of the "big boys" were in medieval this year. I played the players in 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th. Breaking two of them, one winning draw against Dave Handley and a flat draw. Good work Dave - luck favours the brave. Muz Didn't in our game Muz. Depends if you count standing in the open bra...
