As for the supply mechanism, the first turn might drop the suppression, efficiency and initiative penalties.
Also, supply only via minor river or swamp hexes etc should be worth less than via road or open terrain.
Using numbers with fractions for everything would enable more natural strength ...

Re: Elite: All American - Historical Accuracy Challenge
I agree. For PC3, making core units more unique by improving their capabilities (soft/hard/air/close/city attack/defense, speed, spotting, paradrop, unique heroes etc etc) offers a very good way to create a game that is more compelling. The main concept of PG is the steady evolution of your core ...

Re: Elite: All American - Historical Accuracy Challenge
Within the concept of approaching historical limitations, could there be another way to play this DLC?
What I took from it, is the power of infantry in close terrain. 15-strength units that have access to (mostly zero) close defense, with terrain entrenchment+initiative cap and quick buildup of ...

Re: Allied Operations: Italy Vol.1 Bugs?!
Generally, the game does not use info it should not have. But bombers *do* attack an unprotected unit even if it is a long way from the front (in the middle of open terrain). I go back and put a recon plane over my unit before hitting end-of-turn, the bomber attacks another location (even ...

Re: Allied Operations: Italy Vol.1 Bugs?!
Oh and fog of war seems to be something only for the player. AI knows how to find my units in the back :D
I generally don’t get that impression.

Re: AOredone, for none steam users
Moreover, regarding cutting off enemy supplies, I believe the game mechanic is too simplified to be a positive feature; in fact, I consider it a drawback - so much so that I personally preferred the mechanic used in PC1.
In Ukraine, today, cutting supply from the whole Crimea peninsula is an ...

Re: AOredone, for none steam users
Apart from special, named heroes with several traits combined that add their charm, aren't heroes a bit artificial? Some extra speed, range, defense etc I can understand, but zero slots just makes the player more powerful and the game less challenging. No retaliation, same, etc. 'Doom stacks' as one ...

Re: Elite: All American - Historical Accuracy Challenge
@Tassadar Hopefully no complications, it's not so innocuous in adults as in children.
Infantry General gives 10 extra core slots from the start, and it goes up from there. For my run, I relied on the trusted power four, which may be even more powerful in this campaign.

Re: Elite: All American - Historical Accuracy Challenge
82nd Airborne evolved to elite infantry, to be quickly deployed where things were getting really rough, as I understand. So the airborne aspect becomes less over time.

Re: First Impressions of Panzer Corps 2: Elite – All American
@biohazard15, nice overview!
This DLC did achieve what it (probably) meant to: let you appreciate the awesome power of infantry when there is lots of close terrain. Infantry (yes, the Rangers are a bit better) is nearly untouchable in cities, hills, forests etc. And especially with those cheap ...

Re: PC2: Elite - All American | Out Now
I got a prototype tank: T26E4, 15 parts, 31 Hard Attack, 28 Ground Defense, 10 ini. Together with the Zero Slots trait I could choose for my custom Hero, this broke not only the scenario and whole rest of the DLC, but every connecting DLC after this ;-)

Re: PC2: Elite - All American | Out Now
In the 'Grave' scenario, deployment is exclusively in 'Thick Forest' hexes (only INF allowed). But transports also should be forbidden there. Nothing is keeping the player to use only para's without transports (and no bridge engineers...), but the Dodge adds so much power to the infantry, that I ...

Re: Bug Reports
This is something new for me, my unit insists in taking the 3-movement path when there is an easy road to the target.
Infantry is in the central flag location. I want to attack the badly placed enemy Flame Tank.
It prefers the railroad and then into the hill to the right. This way, its movement ...

Re: Bug Reports
Deadly Grasp (double enemy encirclement penalties) is a very useful Power Four component. But sometimes the scenario just forgets the trait. I have no idea where the bug lies. I should be just straightforward program logic. Then, you have to muddle through the rest of the scenario without it ...

Re: Bug Reports
I'm still halfway, but the road to 'To Gela' (the coast) passes a whole stretch of Bocage (close terrain). The Tigers seem to follow the road. So if you can trap them in close terrain you can attack them with your US Airborne, and encircled they will get weaker and weaker. Careful, the edge of the ...

In the 'All American' DLC, in the first turn, all-suppressed, zero fuel, surrounded units can 'Houdini' themselves out of the surround at turn one (given the power four traits). Without any outside help. Ground units can upgrade in the deployment phase, gaining transport+fuel.

Re: First Impressions of Panzer Corps 2: Elite – All American
Nice writeup, but no mention of the supply-hex in the lightly defended village next to the dirt airfield.
This is the top priority. It even yields no less than 5.000 prestige points. And then you can replace your losses.
The five 20-strength German tanks are monstrous, without naval bombardments ...

Re: Hero traits by importance
Prudent ==> never useless. Especially not on planes, I think if your planes dont need it your setting are too easy. This trait is gamebreaking good.
Surprised to read this. I always try to get rid of the enemy air force asap. Otherwise, guarding artillery, tanks and bombers is a pain. Also, enemy ...

Re: Hero traits by importance
There is a *very* lengthy video of TheEdmon: Panzer Corps 2 Guide - All Heroes and Abilities Tier List
Although 4 years old, it is a well reasoned overview and I mostly agree with it (but not always).
For example, Vigilant is clearly S-tier for powerful tanks, enabling them to crush infantry in ...
