Re: Hero traits by importance
Prudent ==> never useless. Especially not on planes, I think if your planes dont need it your setting are too easy. This trait is gamebreaking good.
Surprised to read this. I always try to get rid of the enemy air force asap. Otherwise, guarding artillery, tanks and bombers is a pain. Also, enemy ...

Re: Hero traits by importance
There is a *very* lengthy video of TheEdmon: Panzer Corps 2 Guide - All Heroes and Abilities Tier List
Although 4 years old, it is a well reasoned overview and I mostly agree with it (but not always).
For example, Vigilant is clearly S-tier for powerful tanks, enabling them to crush infantry in ...

Re: Hero traits by importance
Nice effort, but many of the choices are not so convincing, and there may be more traits (e.g. there is also a Entrenchment Killer x3).
Maybe start with the reasoning, like with 'Crippling Blow', which boosts all attack values +5 if the target is full strength:
A unit that is a bit underpowered vs ...

Fyi, one stage later, the merge US-UK went well for me, with no UK-only split units but lots of US-only split units.

In the final British scenario of the PC2 DLC Allied Operations - Italy: Vol.1, enemy territory excluded from the scenario blocks supply.
This is unrealistic, the territory is under Axis control, and should supply the enemy, just like the border of the map.

@terminator I see you have 6137 postings here on the Slitherine forum. That's about 60 times more than me.
It cannot be a question about game mechanics, can it?
Just make the unit surrender with some remaining strength points left. A dead general cannot talk

Re: Suppression formula at n=1: where does the 5‰ discrepancy come from?
@FreddoSoprano If I'm right, the combat algorithm repeats over all available attack-points one after the other. For every hit (suppress or kill), it selects one of the targets' available pre-combat strength points (active or suppressed) where 'double' hits on the same defending strength point can ...

Re: No reward for 3 Hills in DLC Italy Vol1, Operation Fustian scenario
Yes, use the 4 air transports (w Paras) well, and the scenario becomes rather too easy. So you run out of things to do too soon.
Surprisingly, next scenario has zero air transports. Good for the game balance, but a bit inconsistent. The air transports must still be there, somewhere...

No reward for 3 Hills in DLC Italy Vol1, Operation Fustian scenario
When the scenario ends because no enemy units are left, the promised 2 Commendation Points for capturing and holding all three hills does not materialize. Tried it out: if you leave 1 unit alive and wait for the scenario to end naturally, they are awarded.

Allied Operations: Italy: Vol.1 - Operation Fustian
A bit of a surprise, it seems you missed the 'Historical objective: Capture Malati Bridge with No.3 Commando Division unit' (with as a reward a nice Commando Unit + Hero). It was mentioned in the briefing. So you miss out on a valuable unit ...

Re: No reward for bridge in DLC Italy Vol1, Operation Fustian scenario
It was supposed to give you that unit and its hero (disband the aux unit and respawn one of the exact status for you as core), so yes, if you have it split, you cannot trigger the event since splitting reassigns a new id for a unit, and all scripts tracking a unit uses a predefined id.
Well ...

No reward for bridge in DLC Italy Vol1, Operation Fustian scenario
Seems the split part bug rears its head again, my full No.3 Commando unit captures the Malati Bridge, but the game lost track of the unit after it having been split earlier and does not trigger the promised Commando unit + Hero.
So, if the briefing mentions a specific unit, never ever split that ...

Re: AI cheats? Panzer Corps 2: Allied Operations - Italy: Vol.1
Nice idea! A scenario could define the 'defending' part of the map en increase spotting there for the defending side. Maybe also 'terrain expert' (+1 entr).
But in the end, the balance of the game, how hard to play it is, has to remain about the same. So the attacking side would also need some ...

@DefiantXYX With planes, evidence is very convincing, because planes can go to > 100 different hexes so when it targets your artillery, it is no coincidence. That said, the strangely swirling paths to and from airfields always make me wonder which hexes were observed by the AI and which were not.

Re: AI cheats? Panzer Corps 2: Allied Operations - Italy: Vol.1
I just had an artillery (split) unit among enemy mines (nothing else remotely near) that got attacked by a plane (covered by AA, so attack was aborted). Tried same position again, but moved it, or the companion split part (or the covering AA) and the AI changed its mind. It attacked the companion ...

Of course, it's always possible that by sheer chance, the AI made an unexpected move to exactly the right location.

Enemy units seem to know the position of units that are clearly beyond visibility, and always have been, that have moved but did not attack.

Did you read what I wrote?
"If you go straight to the new campaign from the finished campaign then it does not work for some reason".
So, don't do that. Just start the next campaign manually as 'new', and you get asked if you want to continue on from the previous campaign just finished. Then it ...
