I would recommend Valor and Victory (Matrix). I believe it is a boardgame adaptation and plays like one.

One problem I've found is that every unit on both sides gets to activate each turn, allowing you to predictably leave your best asset safe until all enemy activations have happened before moving it out to attack, then activating it first next turn to ...

You may want to pose this question in the FOG or FOGM subforum. The answer is generally a draw but some of the tournaments have special rules on scoring. In the in the automated tournaments I think you just score a zero for that ...

That type of error usually means there is a problem with the server. I got those connection errors yesterday for several Slitherine/Matrix pbem servers actually.

As an old BA tabletop player back in the 1st Ed days this is interesting. Particularly if there is intent to have multiplayer, given the random unit activation sequence in the tabletop game. Hope a solution can be found because multiplayer is where BA would shine as a PC game.
