Uncertainty with warband basing for v2.0

Hello! Couple of questions: Will there be any changes to basing in v2.0? Also I'm still slogging through painting up some Gauls - I am at this point totally confused as to whether they ought to be Heavy or Medium foot. In the army book RBS says they really ought to be HF. But the description of HF i...

Re: Ligurian Allies?

....and they aren't shock so they won't run out of their nice patch of rough going into silly situations, Nor will MF Impact foot. They don't have to test to charge if they are in rough and their charge would take them out of it. Hmmm, not making the case for the Ligurians any stronger... Thankyou ...

I'm not at all experienced in FoG but I think that the problem here is more to do with a poorly defined definition of what constitutes a 'victory' rather than the scoring system. Throughout history armies have fought for many different reasons, often the reasons directly reflected the troop types an...

Ligurian Allies?

The Gallic army can take a Ligurian Allied contingent of Average Prot MF Light Spear for 5pts each. Question I have is why?? They strike me as terrible troops when you can get the same with Impact Foot/Sword for 7pts I appreciate they are about the cheapest rear support going, and they aren't shock ...

is there any distributor in england ? Yeah check out http://www.timecastmodels.co.uk/, while I don't think they actually stock any of the ancients ranges they can order on your behalf from the US and save all the hassles with VAT etc. I got a few bags of Gauls from them earlier this year and their ...

I didn't realise they were meant to be 40x40mm - I thought they were meant to be based as cavalry which implied a 40x30mm. Guess I will have to read the book more carefully!! (and get some more 40x40 bases!)

I like the commanders based on a round base like that - would make them stand out better I imagine. I presume it is ok to do that then? I've been thinking about something like this myself as otherwise they might look a bit boring. Also I was thinking it would be cool to put standard bearers/musician...

Myself I went for Gauls - just remember the mantra "disrupt at impact or we're dead, disrupt at impact or we're dead" :D

Heck as long as you look good doing it I wouldn't worry too much!!

Thanks for the offers Lawrence/John

I got down to the Winchester club the other night and I'll try and get down to Farnborough on a Friday at some stage also.

I'm thinking I'm going to start collecting Gauls - a big band of angry, hairy, madmen does appeal to me.

Brilliant, thanks for the quick responses guys. I'm no where near ready for a game as I don't even have an army yet! I've just moved here from Australia and wanted to cast around, find a group, then pick something compatible (scale/thematically) to collect and go from there. So John I may swing by t...

Looking to get into FoG in or around Basingstoke

Yes, I'm trapped in Basingstoke and nobody plays FoG!

So if there is anybody out there nearby - Reading/Winchester etc. then let me know before I buy a Warhammer Fantasy army out of desperation *sob*
