Re: Quick impressions of CPU behavior in Soviet RTM campaign

Well, I've gotten better at this since my last post. Playing on 8.5 I can regularly get a moon landing before 1970 on Normal, as US or Soviets. On Hard I can get it before 1970 if I get a little lucky, otherwise 1970 or 1971 at the latest. As others have said, the key is getting mission control and ...

Re: Quick impressions of CPU behavior in Soviet RTM campaign

Haha, I have to put an asterisk by my win because I was definitely using R-7 Vostok and Voskhod for TLI.

Re: Apollo D-2

Fair enough, the two TLI approach was completely unrealistic I agree.

Quick impressions of CPU behavior in Soviet RTM campaign

I've tried a couple games with 8.1, playing as the Soviets. I have not played the new patch as the Americans. The American CPU player was very aggressive and unpredictable, which is good. Some games it skipped Explorer and went straight for Pegasus, or skipped Mercury and went straight for Gemini. I...

Re: Apollo D-2

I was just about to post a thread asking about ahistorical Apollo options now that Gemini EOR is in.

Will we have missions like the old Apollo EOR and two-launch and two-TLI LOR from BARIS? Those were nice to use if you couldn't get the Saturn V working.

Re: My Experience in First Few Playthroughs

Hey, thanks for the detailed response. Having personnel skills act as a saving throw makes a lot of sense. A lot of the other stuff is just a matter of tweaking numbers.

Re: My Experience in First Few Playthroughs

With an expanded timeline that encompasses 1970 and beyond, the planetary probes should not be as much of a waste of time. In the original BARIS I would sometimes launch Venus or Mars probes if my manned program was struggling. I did that to get prestige and make up for prestige losses in the manned...

My Experience in First Few Playthroughs

Well, I've completed a few playthroughs and I thought I would share my experiences with the game so far. I am an avid player of the original BARIS and I looked forward to trying out this remake. I've played through three times, all on Hard difficulty. The first playthrough ended in 1972 (or maybe it...

Re: 'Flight Director' skill?

Yes, you can get the achievement by having a mission controller whose skills average 90%.

Re: [FEEDBACK] Cut scene graphics.

The art style is fine, but I agree with the previous poster who asked for more audio and more variety in the audio tracks. I want more mission control chatter! It would be nice if there were a sound for almost every mission step.

Re: [BUG] Costs for Direct Ascent

Same thing happened to me. Seems like an overflow error. I've attached an autosave with the problem.
