Removing upkeep completely would probably make pet aliens overpowered, but they are likely too costly right now. The aspidoch has a 16(!) credit upkeep which definitely seems unreasonable. I think pheropods could be improved by removing credit upkeep for alien units, seeing as there's a limit you can have anyways. Would make capturing aliens a more viable strategy to keep military up even with a weaker economy.

It seemed the AI tends to get more aggressive in the mid/late game once your borders start limiting their expansion. I've only played a couple all the way through though.

I think Togra, and the AI in general, would be better balanced if they took a higher priority on finding ruins. I would be cool if the names changed automatically when you refit something into a different type though. Maybe it could be set to keep the name if it was changed after creation, so you can track specific units, if you like.

I think you can do this. Pretty sure I've done it in game, actually. Try clicking on the unit's name in the lower right hand side of the screen.

I think I like it better this way; the fact that it's full random means you have to make those kinds of decisions. Shape of the map
Was the decision to make the map connect E-W and N-S a design choice, or was it an accident? I don't think that the current map wrap could possibly form the shape of a sphere. Are you planning on adding options to let us disconnect the north and south edges, because it's a little disorienting.
