An update: I found a post on another webside that indicated Midieval Kern shields were wicker or wood, with plan leather covers. So, no decoration or coloration. That makes my job easy, but it seems they'll look pretty plain. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I am in the process of building an English HYW army, and based on what I have read in the forums, the concensus seems to be that the battlegroups of Longbow are most effective in groups of 8 bases. It appears you run yours in groups of six. Was this for easier movement...
