Re: No Sound Win7
[quote="Tarrak"]Glad to hear it's working for you. Sometimes when Windows age to much only a fresh installation helps. It got a lot better from the times of Windows 95 where you had to reinstall like every half a year latest but still sometimes you got to do it. :) Yes Tarrak, thankfully H...

Re: No Sound Win7
The fresh Windows 7 install did the trick. The sound and music are great by the way, definitely worth the time to get it fixed. Thanks for all the help. System restore point set. Lets hope I don't have to use it!

Re: No Sound Win7
Not a chance of any codecs installed before trying this game, then I will add one at a time to see if I can figure out which "pack" is the problem, doing system restores if need be to get rid of any problem ones. Just looking forward to a clean install again. As you saw, too much junk on t...

I just talked with my friend who assists me with this higher level stuff, and he agrees with you on Win8. We will reinstall 7 and let you know if there are persistent issues.
Thanks

Re: No Sound Win7
OK, I probably don't do enough fresh installs anyway, and would like to get rid of all the excess stuff on my PC. It is a couple years old at this point. I guess if I am thinking of a clean install, I should also think about Windows 8 as an option. Has this game been tried with that OS yet?

Re: No Sound Win7
I checked both volume panels. Both maxed with no sound from this game, and sounds from online games and other system sounds are fine, so that is not the issue.
I can attach the codec log if helpful, but will need to do that later as I am not at PC now. Is text file as suggested fine?

Re: No Sound Win7
Also tried to post log of Codec Tweak Tool, but forum wont let me saying it it "too spamy" and to remove URLs. There are no URLs to remove, just file locations, and I really cant remove those without rendering log useless

Re: No Sound Win7
Tarrak, the slider for Panzer Corps was at 50%, and even maxing it created no sounds. Sorry, great thought, but didn't work. I downloaded two programs to further look at codecs. G-spot and Codec tweak tool. The latter lets me generate all kinds of logs and information about installed codecs. I just ...

Re: No Sound Win7
In game sliders are maxed. All other games etc are playing sound on my PC, and it is playing system sounds, so I don't think it is a Windows mixer issue. Just in case, I maxed the sliders there, and still no sounds. Sorry, I too wish it was something that simple, but I don't think it will be. I have...

Re: No Sound Win7
OK, even though Windows said it was the latest driver, I reinstalled the latest on the Creative web site. Rebooted, still no sound. I reinstalled the codec pack you sent me, rebooted, and still no sound. Do you need another DX diag? Sorry, hate to be a pest, and I am sure there are bigger issues out...

Re: No Sound Win7
Well, I was optimistic, especially when it said there were 'broken" codecs from Windows Essentials Codec Pack (which didn't even show up in my programs). Even though Klite did replace them, and installed correctly, still no sound, even after a reboot. Do you want another DxDiag?

Re: No Sound Win7
Well, it doesn't seem to be VLC, as I unistalled that and still no sound. Unfortunately, unistalling the Media Player Codec Pack also didn't help. Nothing else left in the programs list seems to be a codec pack.
Any other thoughts?

Re: No Sound Win7
Well, K-lite is definitely not there, as I did check there before and now again. Maybe part of VLC Player? During the check I did find one called "Media Player Codec Pack" 3.9.9.9 I originally discounted that one since I thought it was part of Windows, but now I am not so sure as I look at...

Re: No Sound Win7
I honestly don't remember which one, it was probably at least a year ago when it was done. Is there a way to identify which Codec pack? I looked for Klite when I read some of the posts here about similar issues, and didn't find it. I may have looked in the wrong place though.
