Have just updated to 10.8.3 and newest apple driver with official support for 650Ti and did not receive any unit selection related crash whatever i tried. Therefore i'm inclined to agree that the beta driver was the reason for crash.

Moving airplane through the sector with ruins, does not pick/examine those. They are left as is. Only "stopping" in the ruins sector do examine them.

I do now understand that this can be related, since i do not get a crash on standard MabookPro issue 2009 (with 9600GT onboard).
