At the hobby shop, most of the stands the players are using are 1 inch (about 25mm) square. 2 x 1 inch for calvary. Being able to play FoG without rebasing hundreds of stands of multiple armies would really be cool. So, if we use a scale where the face of the front ranks 2 inches (about 50mm), how d...

Here near Boston, MA, most of the players who are looking at FoG have 15mm DBA or 25mm based and measures on the 25mm (1 inch) scale, including base size. Table size aside, what would the proper base size for 2 inch (50mm) front for the troops? Granted the books are flying off the shelf, I believe m...

3x HF, armor, lg shield and spear
3x LF, lt. armor, koplesh
2x slingers
3x archers
2x slingers
2x HF, armor, lg shield and spear
I have the picture as a PDF, how do I post it?

Back to my orginal question, will there be details for armies for the Near and Middle East covering the pharoes to Alexander the Great?

What is the most accurate way of defining the difference in phalanx.
What I mean is fighting in line vs. fighting in a block with long spears.

Wow, I knew that the ISO regulations took precedent in my mind, but man that has really put a wrench into the monkey works of my history knowledge. I will keep quiet until I reread the Illiad.

Most of the sea battles involved either raming the enemy or drawing up alongside and boarding.
In the case of boarding parties, the ships upper decks become a small battlefield. I will try to find a site that has deck plans for the various navies.

How about spliting the topic into Pre-Peloponnesian and Pre-Hellenistic Near East?
I think that would work because the phalanx, if memory serves, was not used.

Until Alexander the Great, I do not remember seeing references to the use of phalanx troops.

Biblical list, I thought that this would be Egypt to return from the Babylonian Exile? I am interested in the Ancient Hebrew, Joshua, and the Cannanites and Philistines. Number wise, heavy on slingers and spearmen, light on swords, material availablity. Being in Egypt as long as they were, how much ...

When printing paper models of various sizes, to save ink I recomend doing the following: 1) open a new MSWord or PowerPoint file. 2) turn on the ruler and enlarge the view. 3) insert as a picture the unit you want to print 4) using the ruler as a guide, adjust the size of the picture to fit the scal...
