Re: Grand plan for the game
So I'm still curious what the overall plan is. I know there is an alien invasion coming, but what triggers it? How is it going to work? Will aliens just randomly appear at some point and start killing whoever happens to be in the wrong spot? Do they always land in uninhabited spaces so that no one ...

Re: Ideas for formers
Honestly late-game workers have always been a chore in Civ; they eventually just go automatic and you have a billion of them, and it's just annoying busywork. It'd probably be good at some point to get a tech (nanoswarm workers or whatever) where the workers just all vanish and you can then just ins...

Re: Ideas for formers
Another option, that would be flavorful, would be to allow very long projects that permanently increased or simply altered the yield/type of a square. So that eventually, if you dedicate/protect enough formers you can be completely surrounded by eden squares (or whatever); or cut your enemy's cities...

Re: Ideas for formers
Random thought for formers would be to allow them to "deploy" on resource nodes for additional output of some type. It would give you something to do with otherwise idle formers.

Re: First Impressions - Unormal
I would suggest considering allowing overflow; otherwise you end up necessitating fiddly (unfun) micromanagement if you want to play "perfectly", in this case, backing off workers to the exact amount of research you need to finish a tech at the end of the turn, if you lose the overflow; an...

Re: First Impressions - Unormal
I believe space should go to the next idle unit. If that's not the case, it's a bug. I believe that it does; and it's perhaps a minor niggle, but I think it'd "feel" better if the unit was removed from the "units that need to do things" queue, rather than control skipping to the...

First Impressions - Unormal
Here's a stream of consciousness of my very first play-through, roughly 30 minutes. Overall, I had a positive first impression. I'd give it another shot after this one, which isn't all that common for me. My biggest concern is the opacity of the tech tree, which really tweaks me the wrong way. *It s...

Re: First Impressions
For all intents and purposes, showing a full tree also forces players to play in certain way -- you can't fully ignore it when it's right there. Our current plan is to replace the current research panel with a tree visualization that shows 2 tiers ahead (what you can research and what leads from th...
